What a Shocker
Having been told this week that my cholesterol level has suddenly rocketed after a life-time of being totally average, I have now learned from the NHS site that my BMI is 36.2 and I have 6 stone 8 lbs or 41.9 kg. In what dark room have I kept myself for the past years? I genuinely had not realised that

Falling Apart at the Seams

gps don't seem to understand that I have high cholesterol am not at all overweight and do not eat high fat, processed foods
My cholesterol was 7.2 and I finally lowered it to 4.5 after it kept going up and down. I had to keep explaining to the gp that I was already restricting my diet to control my IBS (the gp referred me to a dietitian to be put on the low fodmap diet for IBS) when I had blood tests done. My cholesterol

Feeling confused, frustrated and worried.
An update, I seem to have been writing no positive posts of late. My latest 6 weeks check up at Addenbrookes, again I did not see George Mell, he is only seeing new patients and each time I attend I seem to be more worried and find that I am not getting answers or politician type answers. I even asked

Another paper from the controversial PURE study.
New study below. "Reducing saturated fatty acid intake and replacing it with carbohydrate has an adverse effect on blood lipids. Substituting saturated fatty acids with unsaturated fats might improve some risk markers, but might worsen others." Because of my PCa research, my primary concern is with triglycerides

High cholesterol
I was on statins for years as I had a bad family history. Came off then in may and just had my blood checked. My cholesterol was 6 and hdl was 1.3. I'm post menopausal. My blood pressure is normal. My Gp said this result was ok. Should I be starting back the statins?

I've finally managed to get hold of my initial test results that I had taken when I was diagnosed underactive. Please can someone take a look and tell me what you think. I don't think a lot of things were tested but I can ask for those in future. Serum Ferritin 8.8ug/l (10.0-291.0) Haemoglobin
