Increased heart rate 3 months after ablation
I had a successful
catheter
ablation
in February. Following it, I no longer had a heart flutter, and my AF had also gone. My pulse was down to 55-60 bpm and I felt well. However, about 3 months following the ablation, my pulse has gone up to approx 100bpm, regularly.

Anyone had endometrial ablation?
Hello ladies. Have any of you had endometrial ablation ? Would you recommend it as an alternative to hysterectomy? I have adenomyosis, fibroid, PCOS, extensive adhesions (sticking uterus, ovaries and sigmoid colon), and an endometrioma. I am waiting to hear when I will be going into hospital to

Does anyone have atrial fibrillation?
Waiting for
catheter
ablation
and warfarin clinic to commence. In the meantime I had the thyroid glands removed completely. Initially I was prescribed T3 which sent me into the worst ever episode of AF. I was then given levothyroxine (100 mcg) which is more agreeable.

Does anyone have AF and is suffering from thyroid problems as well?
Waiting for
catheter
ablation
and warfarin clinic to commence. In the meantime I had the thyroid glands removed completely and am taking levothyroxine (hormone replacement). If my PAF was caused by thyroid problems in theory the trigger should now have vanished, no?

Just diagnosed on Thursday with Afib after second cardiac ablation for SVT
I had my second ablation for SVT on Thursday and have been diagnosed with AF among other things. I also have an autoimmune disease, liver disease (NASH) and a few other things. The Cardio now wants to put me on Flecainide and Diltiazem. I go back to see him on the 2nd where we will have the discussion

this is my 2nd posting, my 1st query was about AV node ablation, my EP specialist has recommended that I have the AV node ablation
my cardiologist would rather I tried a pacemaker with 190mg of high dose Metoprolol, as AV node abaltion is a last resort, unfortunately this hasn't worked as I could not tolerate more than 145gms Metoprolol - 3mths after having the pacemaker inserted my heart rate went down to 43bpm, I was taken to

Post AF catheter ablation how long does it normally take to be pain free?
3 months since a successful ablation but despite the first 2 weeks feeling great I now always seem to have chest pains. Doctor has told me everything is OK and just start to get more active which I am but am I just expecting too much too soon ? How long has it taken other people to get back to full strength

Catheter Ablation
On Monday I had a
Catheter
Ablation
at Harefield hospital which took about 5 hours, I was very impressed and thankful to all the medical staff who treated with the utmost kindness and respect. I am now back in sinus rhythm which is wonderful and I am back on Warfarin and other drugs.

Has anyone had a convergent procedure on their heart? I understand it is a surgical ablation in which there will be a catheter ablation too

AV Node ablation, I've read that much I am lost on the benefit
I only found this site when I was given a booklet from Clydebank Jubilee Hospital when I had my second ablation on 3/2/14. My brief background, I'm 58, took a reaction under a simple day case general anaesthetic to investigate a lump (turned out to be an abscess) they had to use the defribulator to

Does anyone have experience of a hybrid ablation?
I'd like to know how long it took to recover from that and what effect it had on AF in advance of the
catheter
ablation
. Any info very welcome! Many thanks, Tina BTW, sorry if you've read this before - I tried to post a few days ago but think I failed, unless of course I've succeeded twice....

Bit of an update not been on much
Well had appt with rheumy week ago and we had a long discussion about stuff. He started off saying he thinks a lot of my pain is fibromyalgia and sleep apnea until he had a look at my blood test results, really high inflammatory markers and changed his mind about that assumption. I aslo told him that

In from the unknown...how I found out about AF
The upshot is I am due another
Catheter
Ablation
on 10th Feb 2014 and this procedure I am told takes about 4 hours and requires an overnight stay. Please can you tell me your experiences. I am hopeful of success but I have been told 40% will have to have a repeat.

Does the catheter ablation have any effect on "simple" palpitations? I have rapid paroxsymal AF and am considering the ablation.
I started the AF episodes 3 years ago. They were 1x 6 months, 1x 3 months... now 1-2 per each month. So I have been told the ablation would be the best solution. I use the "pill in the pocket" method at present with Flecainide and Metoprolol and it takes about 5-6 hours to stop the episode BUT I feel

Recovering from cardiac ablation.
Had ablation in mid Jan 2014, recovering well, pulse in sinus rhythm most of the time, only seems to become arrhythmic when i have stomach cramps and diarrhoea. Am on Amiodrone 200mg daily (since ablation), Bisopropal 5mg and Warfarin 7mg, any advice?, anyone else experiencing the same?
