Really useful info from endo specialist *worth reading *
In studies where Endometriosis is completely removed at the time of hysterectomy, there is no benefit to
castration
or removal of both ovaries if they are unaffected by endo. (This part is correct).

Wrap that rascal - in stamps!
Sometimes it is caused by physical issues, such as nerve damage during RP or the effects of
castration
. But prostate cancer also causes severe psychological stress, which can also cause impotence.

Cyberknife is in my future
Since January I've also been on Enzalutmide/Xtandi as PSA was rising with Zoladex alone, so was declared
castration
resistant. The Xtandi has managed to keep my PSA in check (it's currently 0.67 and stable) but I have a lot of cancer in the prostate which is causing issues.

Overall Survival
That's why I was so thrown (see previous post) to be told, a few months after end of chemo, that I am now
Castration
Resistant - CRPC. When I queried, I was told that the ticking clock for OS started at Dx, and my PSA was already off the wall (960) when Dx.

HOT FLASHES – Why? What to do?
Consider that when men have surgical
castration
/orchiectomy and can no longer produce testicular testosterone, though they may experience hot flashes, they are found to be much more subdued than those experienced by men when chemical
castration
is prescribed.
