Bit of an update not been on much
Well had appt with rheumy week ago and we had a long discussion about stuff. He started off saying he thinks a lot of my pain is fibromyalgia and sleep apnea until he had a look at my blood test results, really high inflammatory markers and changed his mind about that assumption. I aslo told him that

Any ideas please. I really am considering self meds as not getting anywhere with drs. If I self med what should I try first?
Bloods from April 12 when neck swelled and I grew an extra head (nodules) TSH 1.5 (0.27-4.2) Free T4 14.2 (11.0-22.0). Partial thyroidectomy Oct 12. Started feeling terrible 1 month later but dr's refused to test bloods until Jan 13. TSH 4.95 (range as before) T4 13.5. Told me I was normal and the 35lb

Recovering from cardiac ablation.
Had ablation in mid Jan 2014, recovering well, pulse in sinus rhythm most of the time, only seems to become arrhythmic when i have stomach cramps and diarrhoea. Am on Amiodrone 200mg daily (since ablation), Bisopropal 5mg and Warfarin 7mg, any advice?, anyone else experiencing the same?

Large cyst on Thyroid, is Ethanol injection an option?
Hi all, i have a large thyroid cyst on the right side of my thyroid (6x4cm) that has steadily grown over the last 10 years or so, I've had several FNA and they've all come back benign, but I want the lump to be gone. My endocrinologist suggested partial thyroidectomy to remove the right side. Only

WHO WILL HAVE MADE THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS - ENDOCRINOLOGISTS OR RADIOLOGIST?
Meet with Surgeon tomorrow for results of the partial thyroidectomy I had 2 weeks ago. At a pre diagnosis meeting 5 Endocrinologists believed the nodule to be benign, the radiologist had concerns. Cells sampled could not be identified one way or the other. Interesting to see who is correct. One

Is it possible for blood test results to come back normal if you have Hypothyriodism??
I had a partial thyroidectomy approx. 8 years ago due to a non-malignant tumour. At the time my consultant said that at some part of my life I will need some sort of medication. I have been tested in the past for Hypothyriodism as I showed a few symptoms and all blood tests came back normal so had no

Does anyone else get stabbing pains in the bone at the base of their thumb?
A year ago this month, I had a partial thyroidectomy due to nodules. I have gone from 25mcg of Levothyroxine and I am now taking 250 mcg. My doc has said that he will give one more increase and that is it. He has been brilliant and listens more to me about my symptoms than test result ranges (last

Hypothyroid or Menopause
I had a partial thyroidectomy done 20 years ago for an overactive thyroid My hormone levels have stayed within the normal range all these years but after a recent blood test my doctor advised that the levels were a bit on the low side and prescribed 25mg of Eltroxin daily. I don't feel any different

How do I get a natural thyroid prescription here in the UK?
Since moving to the UK 3 years ago I was switched to levothyroxine from armour thyroid (that I was on in the States) - I gained 20 pounds, my skin is always dry, my hair falls out, I have brain fog and I always want to sleep. I had a partial thyroidectomy as my half of my thyroid was massive, in May

Any idea what may be happening?
hi guys I am now two weeks post right side partial thyroidectomy where they took out isthmus and did a level 6 neck dissection as well. Scar is healing up really well and slowly getting back to normal, still getting very tired very quickly. For the last three days I've been under a great deal of stress

Is there a Thyroid support group in the Wakefield or Leeds areas?
I've had a partial thyroidectomy to remove cancer earlier this year and I would like to meet other people with similar problems to me, namely thyroid cancer, hypothyroidism and diabetes, to discuss treatments and get some support. My family try to be supportive but they don't really understand.

Follow up after partial thyroidectomy, or lack of...
I had a partial thyroidectomy nearly 15 years ago due to a multi-nodular goitre. The only time my thyroid blood test results dipped away from normal was when it was severed! I didn't have a single symptom other than the huge lump in my neck. Two thirds of my thyroid was packed with nodules and two fine

Stopping medication
In 2002 I had a partial thyroidectomy and started Eltroxin about one year later. I am finding the switch from Eltroxin to a different thyroid medication difficult and am wondering if my thyroid function has improved. How do I do this? Just stop my meds and see the results at my next blood test in 2

Is it possible to get a test for apolipoprotein B on the NHS?
I'm in my 5th week of attempting to follow a Nutritional Ketosis diet and have managed to drop about ½ a stone. My BMI is down to 24, so I'm happy about that. I'm 75 and had a heart attack 4½ years ago and had a stent fitted. I was 14½ stone then and now I'm nearly down to 11½ stone. I've started to
