Hypothyroid or Menopause
I had a partial thyroidectomy done 20 years ago for an overactive thyroid My hormone levels have stayed within the normal range all these years but after a recent blood test my doctor advised that the levels were a bit on the low side and prescribed 25mg of Eltroxin daily. I don't feel any different

How do I get a natural thyroid prescription here in the UK?
Since moving to the UK 3 years ago I was switched to levothyroxine from armour thyroid (that I was on in the States) - I gained 20 pounds, my skin is always dry, my hair falls out, I have brain fog and I always want to sleep. I had a partial thyroidectomy as my half of my thyroid was massive, in May

Any idea what may be happening?
hi guys I am now two weeks post right side partial thyroidectomy where they took out isthmus and did a level 6 neck dissection as well. Scar is healing up really well and slowly getting back to normal, still getting very tired very quickly. For the last three days I've been under a great deal of stress

Is there a Thyroid support group in the Wakefield or Leeds areas?
I've had a partial thyroidectomy to remove cancer earlier this year and I would like to meet other people with similar problems to me, namely thyroid cancer, hypothyroidism and diabetes, to discuss treatments and get some support. My family try to be supportive but they don't really understand.

Follow up after partial thyroidectomy, or lack of...
I had a partial thyroidectomy nearly 15 years ago due to a multi-nodular goitre. The only time my thyroid blood test results dipped away from normal was when it was severed! I didn't have a single symptom other than the huge lump in my neck. Two thirds of my thyroid was packed with nodules and two fine

Stopping medication
In 2002 I had a partial thyroidectomy and started Eltroxin about one year later. I am finding the switch from Eltroxin to a different thyroid medication difficult and am wondering if my thyroid function has improved. How do I do this? Just stop my meds and see the results at my next blood test in 2

penwithian
Hello everyone, I'm a new post: going by the name Penwithian. I had a partial thyroidectomy thirteen years ago. O.k. until three years ago on a 100mg thyroxine per day; fatigue and weight gain in past two years. Prescribed 125mg per day. Still fatigued! and blood pressure rising alarmingly... please

Is it possible to get a test for apolipoprotein B on the NHS?
I'm in my 5th week of attempting to follow a Nutritional Ketosis diet and have managed to drop about ½ a stone. My BMI is down to 24, so I'm happy about that. I'm 75 and had a heart attack 4½ years ago and had a stent fitted. I was 14½ stone then and now I'm nearly down to 11½ stone. I've started to

Cancer? I have just had a routine CT on my thyroid pre surgery & they have found multiple small (less 1cm) nodules in lungs..
As far as I'm aware I have Graves' disease (no thyroid nodules seen) I've had a partial thyroidectomy 15 yrs ago and about to have the rest removed after a relapse. So now I spotted on my notes about these multiple nodules in lungs of no clinical relevence. GP has said to forget them they are common

Operation recovery times
Hi Two weeks ago I had a fna and scan where they found a 2.8 cm lump contained within one nodule. I was fast tracked to see consultant as fna was inconclusive. So today I've had the works cameras checking my throat, blood tests, ultrasound and another fna. For background I has tsh level tested five

Fading
I was diagnosed with hypo following a partial thyroidectomy approximately 3 years ago I am on 125mg of levothyroxine and find that I have a problem with fading out of conversations for seconds where my brain seems to shut down or go to sleep. Very awkward as my job is customer facing. I'm pretty sure

New set of results - help please x
Hi, I posted a week ago about my TSH level and the GPs quaint description of my hard working thyroid which needed to be tested again in 6 months. I took the advice you gave me and went back asking for further tests asap, these are my new results - not fasting as the first test was but again described

My journey to a partial thyroidectomy to remove a multinodular goitre
With a strong family history of thyroid disease I suppose it would be inevitable that I would suffer from the disease as well. 7 years ago as a fun-loving twenty year old I was, like many people that age, looks-obsessed, and wanted gorgeous long hair. My hairdresser unwittingly suggested Kelp as

Thyroid working extra hard?
I have just received the results of some blood tests, taken as I am run down and have severe debilitating joint pain. My GP said this " all normal, except your thyroid seems to be working extra hard so we will test again in 6 months" I was slightly stunned and said is that because of the partial thyroidectomy

Results (with range) why do I still feel so bad? Need op but should I wait 3 months or will I feel worse?? First endo today. Graves.
Hello. I had my first endo app today. I had a partial thyroidectomy 15 years ago, now I'm out of remission for the first time but endo says due to goitre size I need my thyroid removed in full. I have a young baby and although I am really struggling to look after her, I am also breaking my heart over
