Dosing Information On HDT / B1 / Thiamine HCL / HCI For New Members Considering HDT Including a Link To Some of Dr. Costantini's Info
I have decided to make this post as a general guide to explain to new HU forum members how Dr. Costantini tried to determine the correct B1 dose for each of his patients via email. By doing this, one need only click on my icon to find it among the 14 posts that I have and this way, I won't have to write

99% ldopa products are not really 'mucuna'
Firstly, this isn't a negative post about ldopa supplements or mucuna. In fact, I have several containers of both. There's a number of articles and studies online that are quite positive about mucuna as a prescription levodopa alternative. Here's one that was posted in a recent thread: https://healthunlocked.com

Levodopa being trialled for AMD
I wonder anyone has seen the information on the Parkinson’s drug in trials for AMD that is having positive results and is ongoing. See the link attached, I’m not sure this is happening in the UK. https://www.genengnews.com/news/parkinsons-disease-drug-stabilizes-age-related-macular-degeneration-and-improves-vision

Mucuna my natural protocol
I was on
Carbidopa
levodopa
25 100 for about 6 months and I weaned off completely in about a week. I just did it on my own because I was anxious to get started with the natural supplement. I started out with one eighth of a teaspoon that I mixed in water.

A riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma!
I currently take 4 doses of c/l IR + c/l CR + entacapone on 3 hour intervals... Recently I skipped dose 4, and I found that dose 3 does not wear off for 6.5 hours! I have 2 theories at this time: 1. the effectivness of the entacapone increases with each successive dose 2. one of the other drugs I am

Maximum dose of levodopa
Can someone tell me the maximum dose of levodopa/madopar per ingestion? And what is the maximum dose of levodopa from mucuna? Or doesn't that make a difference?

Natural history of motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease and the long-duration response to levodopa
The natural pattern of progression of Parkinson’s disease is largely unknown because patients are conventionally followed on treatment. As Parkinson’s disease progresses, the true magnitude of the long-duration response to levodopa remains unknown, because it can only be estimated indirectly in treated

Carbodopa Levadopa is it more poison than medicine?
I am the 71 year old husband and care partner for my wife of 49 years. She will be 71 next Tuesday and that marks the 1 year time mark on her Parkinsons journey. We were in New Mexico prior to her diagnosis and she walked with me everywhere on our quest to see the sites. Now, she has the severe Parkinsons

what happend to the levodopa not absorbed in the small intestine?
I've a question for this wonderful community. Does anyone have an idea of what happends to the levodopa not absorbed in the small intestine? will it be absorbed later in the rest of the intestine (probably slower and less)? Or it will be metabolised (tranformed) by the microbiota in other (useless or

When to combine thiamin and prescription meds
She was diagnosed only about 6 weeks ago and started on
carbidopa
/
levodopa
and then pramiprexole. She started thiamin not long after starting the prescription meds and we have increased the dose so that she's now using 4,000 mg per day.

RYTARY OR SINEMET, WHICH WORKS BEST AND CAUSES MILD OR NO DYSKINESIA OR DYSTONIA?
Hi Friends, Diagnosed as a Yopd patient.
