Whats the best diet for Ldopa absorption? Keto? Vegan? Vegetarian? Or fasting? It is sooo confusing, pls share your experience! thanks a mil
I don't think any one diet is best (for levodopa absorption,) but instead separate dietary protein from levodopa doses.
Nutrition on a molecular level is probably more complex than particle physics and every diet has it's own fan club, choir, scientists, studies and whatever else needed to prove that diet is better -- so, essentially, we are on our own here.
No one specific diet works well for everyone. Some do well on high protein, some do well with vegan (while others go anemic on the diet), and some do well on Keto (high fat) but not others (lose too much weight) - very dependent on your genetic makeup and your nutritional/methylation status.
What's important for all is that you should eat as clean and organic diet as possible. Vary the diet as much as possible, make it as colorful as possible (green, red, purple, etc), avoid refined carbs/sugar, and avoid mixing high fat with high carb, and add antioxidant/phytonutrients rich foods.

There are studies which found that animal fat and dairy are associated with 1) a greater likelihood of getting Parkinson's disease in the first place, and 2) a faster rate of Parkinson's disease symptom progression. See work by Laurie Mischley.
I'd say the context matters. Animal fat and dairy (casein) can be very inflammatory in certain individuals especially when combined with certain other food groups. However, correctly applied ketogenic diet (high in fat) is anything but inflammatory while it is combined with extremely low carbs. Inflammation is a definite contributor engendering most diseases, and everyone should watch their homocysteine biomarker to address any blocked methylation cycle, whether due to genetic SNPs, lack of a nutrient, toxins, etc.
I must admit that Im doing way better cutting off Protein !
I've heard the Mediterranean diet is good for PD. I haven't tried it yet but would like to. I just can't stick to something like that. I do feel better when I eat more veggies & fruits but I have a hard time staying
away from meat.
Another thing that helps is not eating so much. Everytime I overeat I feel lousy & that evening & the next day I have more off time.
