Postherpetic neuralgia - Axsain capsaicin
Asked for, and got, Axsain 0.075%
capsaicin
cream. Once I realised it can take a few weeks to get going, and it needs to be applied regardless any pain, it has been so, so helpful. Critical issues: First couple of weeks, I really noticed its direct effect on my skin.

‘Little evidence’ whether or not most antidepressants work for chronic pain
For myself, I am so very much happier using topical
capsaicin
cream. It's under my control. It works. And it really doesn't seem to cause any significant issues except when I get some in an eye! But I am so very lucky to have that option.

New drug for treating hot flashes under FDA review
But others receiving
capsaicin
—a compound in chilis known to trigger hot flashes in humans and animals—scurried to the cool section seeking relief. Finally, a third group of mice were given a drug that activates neurokinin receptors on the KNDy neurons.

New kinds of pain - anyone else get this?
I dug out a tube of
Capsaicin
that I had forgotten I have last night and smothered my foot with it. Thankfully it does provide some relief but there is a limit to how long and how often it can be applied. Does any of this sound familiar?

VEGF Inhibitors.
Capsaicin
Capsaicin
, an alkaloid/amide derivative, is a dietary-cancer-preventing agent found in Capsicum frutescens. It protects against tumor development and progression through different signaling pathways. It prevents melanoma cell proliferation by inhibiting the expression of VEGF.

Heat helps with RLS
And I decided to try another natural remedy for pain called "
capsaicin
" in the form of a patch. I've had some luck with applying heat pads to my quads in the past but nowhere near complete relief. I would get the chemical pads and tape them to my legs and get heat for about 3 hours.
