Hi everyone I’m new here , I have suffered with fibromyalgia now for a long time , and cervical spondylosis. I was on tramadol , and pregabalin , and having three monthly lidocaine infusions , I was having constant flare ups , so was advised to come off these tablets , which I did as go said there obviously not working anymore due to flare ups all time. I basically am just left now with cocodamols , capsaicin cream, and lidocaine patches , I have just had another X-ray confirming the spondylosis has got worse , with constant pain, down my arm shoulder and shoulder blade, the fibromyalgia is flaring up most days, and visiting physio yesterday confirmed osteoarthritis in my hands , all made worse with the fibromyalgia. I have always worked but had to reduce my hours over the years , and now I have to give up work as I am struggling so much now , as the pain from the fibromyalgia just doesn’t let up , I’m sorry to bang on , but what meds help you the most , Should I be seeing Rheumatologist as I saw them a handful times at the beginning years and years ago when I first got diagnosed . Physio suggested I join a group , they are giving me gentle exercises for the spondylosis at the moment , and I feel like I’ve just been left to get on with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I hope you are all keeping safe and well thankyou
Advice please: Hi everyone I’m new here... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Advice please
I think with me the more I think about the pain, the worse if becomes. When I am at work, my mind is off it, although it does flare with cold conditions and repetitive movement. It does help to talk about it.
Good morning Ran2,
I would recommend Dr Leon Chaitows book called Muscle Pain and Fibromyalgia - its an incredible book full of wonderful advice, it also talks about Me and CFS.
I used to follow toe advice of doctors when I was younger, I do not do that anymore. I still have fibro but live a normal life now, and the only medications I take are liquid levothyroxine for my thyroid and once a week I have a low dose amitriptyline - this is just to help with sleep. The doctors try to mask the illness with pain killers, which in turn causes endless problems/side effects. I was housebound when I followed there advice.
I really hope you feel alot better soon, sorry I can not help your other illnesses, but I have not had them, so cannot comment.
Best wishes
