slow release liothyronine
Like many people on here I miss the wise opinion and knowledge of Diogenes enormously. I know he was working on the formulation of a slow release liothyronine which was in clinical trial. Does anyone have an update on this? is it any closer? In the meantime I am tempted to try sustained release compounded

I’m not sure if people on here can give their thoughts on my provoked urine test please? I’ve never had one done before Many thanks if so.

time to try T3
Hypothyroid - 20 years always on T4 but same brand Mercury Pharma, currently taking 150mcg. Like everyone I private test to get T3 T4 have paid in the past to see private endocrinologists and am reasonably well informed (mainly through this forum). I don’t suffer as badly as many people do but maybe

T3 Trial continued
Medichecks 20 March 2024 History:
Hypothyroid (after RAI in c2004)
Spent 2023 improving folate, B12, Vit D although ferritin still poor. Came off PPIs and now take Gaviscon twice daily. Gastritis issues ongoing though. Officially a poor converter (dud DIO2) so really wanted to try T3 Gluten

Hi, So glad to have found this wonderful forum! I am a 74 year female who recently started taking pregabalin for RLS. I just got back my ferritin level and it is 12. I will order some iron and would like to know how many mg is a good dose. Also, I started taking niacin 500mg daily for my cholesterol

advice on synacthen test
for anyone who has been following my story they will know I’ve been having medication issues and I am now taking T3 only. Still having issues with weight gain. Spoke to my endocrinologist last week and she has agreed the increase to 40mcg. This was after she had suggested trying a small dose of levothyroxine

Taking Biotin
Hello, As part of my daily suppliment intake I take the full range of B vitamins (B1-12), which includes 50mcg biotin. As I understand it, this is less than the 20mg which would affect my T4 levels, is that right? And at this dosage do I still need to stop taking this particular suppliment 2 days

Opinions Please
Hi I have just had my results from Medicheck. I followed all the recommendations, 9am test, no Levothyroxin for 24 hours, no Biotin for a week. I am currently taking 75 mg Levothyroxin, Vitamin D3, Methyl Folate & Thorne Basic B Complex. I am considering adding 25 mg Levothyroxin 3 times a week

Struggling, should I try increase now?
Good morning, Following my post last week, I am now really struggling with hypo symptoms which I think is more to do with reduction of the levo than addition of T3. I didn’t want to rush adding extra T3, have now been on 2.5 T3 for 8 days with levo (87.5x3 & 100x4 days) as I react so badly to changes

Headaches and nightmares on T3 monotherapy
Hi, does anyone else get headaches and nightmares on T3 monotherapy? I have read the side effects leaflet and it states that 'headache' and 'insomnia' are two of the side effects; since I have been on T3 only I often wake up in the night and have a very light sleep compared to what I am used to, then

could Helvella or any other knowledgeable person please help me explain why TSH is o.k to be low when being treated please.
please help me with this wretched problem we have with doctors and medical specialists regarding low TSH. I am having some help from a medical herbalist who, on seeing my thyroid blood test results, has got quite stroppy and insisting my TSH should be higher , and I should lower my thyroid medication

T3 toxicity
Hi, I wonder if anyone could tell me whether it’s possible for T3 to simply ‘not agree’ with me? I’ve posted here before and got lots of great advice. My numbers previously showed me mid range through all the thyroid numbers but not converting well to T3. I was advised to take selenium and zinc

Crash after Covid?
I’m really struggling to balance my body back out after having Covid and so so puzzled. Not sure why this has happened or where to go with it next. Has anyone had a really bad crash after Covid? I’m diagnosed pernicious anaemia and hypothyroid Hashimotos. I had been in the same routine with supplements

Once a day T3ers only
Do you still do your blood tests in the same way as those on divided doses or T4? I can't think of any better way unless someone has any ideas? I am taking all my T3 on waking so got earliest appointment I could ( testing other stuff too so can't do my own finger prick test) and that is 10am Mon, sadly
