Hi

I have just had my results from Medicheck. I followed all the recommendations, 9am test, no Levothyroxin for 24 hours, no Biotin for a week.

I am currently taking 75 mg Levothyroxin, Vitamin D3, Methyl Folate & Thorne Basic B Complex.

I am considering adding 25 mg Levothyroxin 3 times a week and reducing the Folate to 4 times a week instead of daily.

Can you more wise people please give me your opinion or any suggestions. I am struggling with my weight, hair loss & still have brain fog.

(Ever since I started being tested for Ferritin (approx 5 years) it has always been high).

Hi there, you could definitely up your levo to 100mcg - I would say daily, but if you prefer 3 times a week, go for it. Raising it 25mcg is not going to push your ft4 over the upper threshold.

You have plenty room to increase to 100mcg levo....that should relieve your symptoms

Vit D is too low....aim 150....take with co-factor vit K to ensure calcium goes to bones and teeth not arteries

High ferritin can suggest inflammation somewhere in the body...arthritis?

Thank you so much for your kind response, I think I will increase to 100 mcg gradually. I will also take your advice regarding the Vitamin D with Vitamin K spray. I thankfully don't have arthritis but I do suffer with a permanent bad back. Ever since the first time the Doctors tested and the Ferritin result came back high they now dismiss it as "that's normal for you" !!!

Was CRP not included in the tests?

Sorry missed that one. CRP 1.9. (0-3).

OK, so that's not very high, not high enough to affect your ferritin level, I don't think.

Not what you're looking for?
