Verapamil and effects on thyroid
I have been wondering if my long term use of heart drug Verapamil has had any affect on my thyroid. I have been on Thyroxine for 22 years and Verapamil for about 18 years. I stumble across the following article and wondered if anyone can make head or tail of it. It says at the end it was safe for the

Multiple nodules thyroid
Hi all, I discovered to have an under active thyroid about 26 years ago and few small nodules, called cold nodules in the medical jargon. I am taking thyroid hormone since then, in different doses depending on the hormones level in my blood. In the last years, the nodules, especially on the left

Prenatal Vitamins
Please could someone who has read It Starts With The Egg and Brain Health From Birth, both by Rebecca Fett, tell me which Vitamins are advised to take in the book? I have my Day 5 fresh embryo transfer on Tuesday and plan to take prenatals as if my pregnant rather than TTC. I still have so many vitamins

Osteoporosis and Levothyroxine
My osteopenia has become osteoporosis! I have been supplementing with calcium and Vit D3/K2 for years. I have to make a routine GP appointment, no doubt that will take weeks. My TSH has always been on the low suppressed side. Last test results TSH 0.05 (0.27 - 4.20) T4 21.2 (11.0

RLS, magnesium, calcium and hard water
Hello everyone, wanted to share my experience/thoughts. I'm a 58-yo female from the UK. I've suffered from RLS for around 20 years. I've never tried any prescription meds for this (the medications all sound quite dodgy to me as they seem to lead to dependence, and don't treat the root cause, which seems

So I posted not that long ago but didn’t get much help. I did have my other vitamin results in this post. currently all my Levo dosage is the same 200mcg and alternating with 212mcg the next day. I’m getting a lot of heart palps and keep going dizzy. I thought it was low iron, but my levels seem

Some will already know from my previous posts I went for an ultrasound scan today on my intestines. When I arrived home I had recieved rather a lot of post. I waded through the various bills and then opened one from the hospital, it was from the endocrine dept. Some of you will know I have both hypothroidism

CTCA result
I’m guessing this could just be down to image quality that my LCX isn’t visualised properly? My cardiologist said he’s personally going to take a look at the images himself and share with imaging colleagues. Anyone had anything similar from a CTCA? They were investigating me for CAD, looks unlikely

Sleeping w/out THC for the first time in 5 years
I'm still trying to figure out several PD issues that I think are related to the estrogen patch I started about a year ago, and I intend to post about that eventually, but I wanted to give a quick update because my severe insomnia seems to be resolved. The last time I tried sleeping without THC was

SlowDragon please comment on my situation if you're around.
Hi, I'm not able to get labs until Jan. 13, hopefully. This clinic is going under and everyone is struggling to be seen in this tiny community in the middle of nowhere. I am tired most of the time. However, I did walk the furthest today than I have in a month so maybe things are getting better

calcium
how do people know that they have calcium that's required daily 1,200mgs,I don't eat dairy, I have alpro no sugars, and alpro yoghurt no sugars, you would have to stop in all day counting calcium, measuring yoghurt a bit messy wouldn't a calcium supplement be easier.

Background I was diagnosed with PMR in June 2024. Fortunate in having very supportive GP who quickly started me on 15 mg Predisolone which brought about dramatic improvement. Dose has been reduced to 14 mg after 1 month. GP plan is to reduce by about 1mg a month, depending on monthly blood test results

Vitamin D & Calcium Supplements - current advice from Canadian Doctors.
Hello All, I thought this was worth passing on. I recently received the same advice from my family Doctor and CLL Specialist. "Make sure you take a vitamin D supplement at 1000 IU per day, but do NOT take a calcium supplement and try to ensure you get sufficient from your diet, not just diary but

PMR/GCA monitoring and bone supplements
Hi recently diagnosed with PMR and just started course of steroids in the last week. Doctor has now sent me the tapering programme for following year. As I have osteopenia of the femur he has suggested I take supplements for my bones. Either calcium and vit D or bisphosponates? Any advice on which
