TEVA Medications - not just a Thyroid issue?
Hi, this is just a general observation... I know some people on here have trouble with TEVA Levothyroxine products and recently I had knee replacement surgery. I was given codeine and paracetamol as painkillers for the two nights in hospital. Despite the 4 maximum doses I was given through the day/night

MRI scan and iodine dye.....is it a problem for Hashi sufferers ?
I’m hoping someone on here can advise. I’m booked in for an MRI scan as part of an investigation into a trapped nerve in my neck. It’s all a bit scary but as I live in France it’s also an unfamiliar process (not that I’ve done it before). From what I can see, they inject a dye into intravenously before

Ibs anxiety? Something worse?
Have been suffering from health anxiety for the past few years. Was hospitalised this week with abdominal pain thinking it was appendicitis scan showed all okay bar thickened endometrium which needs follow up scan. Wasn't told if was related to the pain. Was given codeine but makes me constipated. Still

Was RAI necessary?
I know it is possible to have both Graves and Hashi's. My recurrent bouts of hyperthyroidism requiring 3 years of continuous carbimazole treatment made it look like I just had Graves. Since having several private blood tests I notice my Tg antibodies are raised and my TPO are very high. Would the Hashi's

Iodine - can't find link to recent article
Not long ago someone posted a link to an article suggesting that iodine is not as bad as we have been led to believe. I meant to read it at the time, but didn't and now I can't find it. Does anyone remember this and can give me a link to it? This time I'll bookmark it and read it! My naturopath adviser

Medicheck blood test results
I’ve just received these results, I had a private test as my endocrinology nurse informed me that consultant would be reluctant to order tests for vitamin level. I’m awaiting a response from my GP, any input from the members would be very welcome. hs-CRP 3.30 <5.0 Ferritin 300.0

Tiredness is my biggest issue
I was diagnosed with overactive thyroid around 2003/4 and went on Carbamazole for sometime the had three radio iodine treatments thus sending me under active.Since then it’s been difficult getting back to the way I was before all this thyroid problem kicked off and I’ve been on 100, 50 and 75 mcg per

New and new meds too
Hello I have recently found your site and have posted a few comments. I would love to get some feedback on the new to me combination of Etoricoxib 60mg and Nefopam 30mg as I’m having several undesirable side-effects, notably lack of sleep which never helps anyone suffering with pain. I’m only three days

Levothyroxine intolerance
I have felt dreadfully ill ever since I started taking Levothyroxine when I became hypothyroid in October 18 following RAI treatment in June 18. I was suffering side-effects from the carbimazole and was told that it was easier to treat an under-active thyroid than an overactive one. The deterioration

Sea Kelp - does anyone find it helps with u/a thyroid?
Does anyone take Sea Kelp with Levothyroxine? I have taken it in the past but stopped recently. Research says both "Kelp is a type of seaweed known for its rich iodine content. In some individuals, the high iodine load can result in thyroid dysfunction" and "The National Institutes of Health (NIH) say
