Have been suffering from health anxiety for the past few years. Was hospitalised this week with abdominal pain thinking it was appendicitis scan showed all okay bar thickened endometrium which needs follow up scan. Wasn't told if was related to the pain. Was given codeine but makes me constipated. Still have painful abdominal cramps, stomach sounds like sink gurgling, stomach bubbling, can't stomach food, pain shifting from one side to the other, feel exhausted absolutely no energy. Would scan of picked up any ibs problems?
Scared to mention to Dr as was on phone a lot last week (was initially diagnosed with stomach acid and was given meds but made no diff felt fobbed off) trying to get appointment or phone call appointment booked but nothing available. Scared Dr will just accuse me of imagining things when it could be serious. Thanks for reading x

I too have issues with anxiety, so I understand how you feel. I started with abdominal pain 18 months ago. I had years of ibs prior to this which I hadnt sought medical treatment for, as it was manageable. I had a scan last year which showed a thickened endometrium too. Later in the year I had endometrial polyps removed, which accounted for the thickening. I had a colonoscopy, which showed some diverticular disease, with normal biopsies. I've since had my gallbladder removed as the scan had shown gallstones, but I still have ongoing abdominal pain. The pain moves around and may or may not be linked to diarrhoea. I have seen numerous gp's and am told it is ibs. As far as I am aware ibs wouldn't show on a scan. I am working on my anxiety because of the links between anxiety and the gut. I hope you get it sorted soon and can manage the anxiety.
Thanks for replying to me. Scan pickrd up gallstones but normal apparently? Hoping it is just Ibs although I am self diagnosing x hope you are okay and thanks again x
Do you get a lot of diarrhoea, if you do it might be worth taking a look at Bile Acid Malabsorption, you can sometimes get it after gallbladder removal. Link below.
I have thought about that. My diarrhoea isn't too bad at the moment. I do get sudden loose stools and im currently waiting for the results of a repeat calprotectin as it was raised previously. Thanks for the response.
