Hi Guys Not posted for a while I was just wondering if it safe to Aspirin my husband as NAFLD and is suffering with constant headaches he’s been prescribed paracetamol but they don’t seem to be helping so the GP gave him codeine which just made him sick. Hi 👋 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2021........I have been convinced that maybe it isn't fibo, but speaking to a top doctor (whilst in hospital for an unrelated matter) he asked why I'd came to this conclusion.........I said because although I'm in pain when I do not take my codeine I'm not

Thoracic CT Scan - With contrast.
Not that remarkable having a CT Scan - But today I was not feeling the best before I wnt. It was a Thoracic CT with contrast. I have had many of these and know they can make you feel warm, and even an urge to urinate although it never happens. I was placed on the CT Scanner and was given Iodine as

Success (I hope) with Gabapentin
I have had RLS for more years than I can remember. For years I took mirapexin till I augmented. I tried Pregabalin but I felt dizzy all the time and I put on a lot of weight quickly. I started tramadol and then alternated between that and mirapexin ( yes I went back on it). I coped like this for a long

Poor communication or misunderstanding?
So... I saw my NHS Consultant on Monday about my leg pain and inability to walk when flaring and we discussed my surgery etc and I left the appointment feeling pretty deflated. Long story short she's told me I have to go on the progesterone only pill while I wait for my 1st Lap (hopefully less than 6

Opioids
Have been following posts, have studied Mayo Clinic, been back to rlshelp.org Have read Dr Earlys research , follow several Rls groups . I have done the DAs (unfortunately) The side effects of Gabapentin and Pregabalin far out way the benefits. Iron is good, I get infusions as needed. I use Magnesium

Should I apply sick day rules following a foot operation?
I had an operation yesterday to remove osteophyte ring from around my big toe. I’m home now and it’s very painful despite taking the codeine 30mg they prescribed. My PMR is no different and I’m on 6mg prednisolone but am I supposed to apply sick day rules or do I only do that if PMR gets worse?

Stress - I ignored the obvious ...
I should know this by now after nearly 4 years of PMR. I am normally reasonably OK at dealing with stress, but there is a limit. Now I know all too well that PMR flares are indeed one of the ugly lovechilds of major stress. I am 68 but still working. One of my sidelines suffered terribly in Covid

Oxycodone - the way forward or a dead end?
I have only posted here briefly once but I have been following this great forum for some time. My story is very familiar. Have had RLS for 14 years, was prescribed all the available RLS medication: Ropinirole, Pramipexole (both miraculous at the beginning) Neupro patch ( never tolerated it), Gabapentin

Urgently seeking pain management tips
Hi everyone! I was so glad to see 2023 come to an end, but unfortunately, my transition into the new year has not been much better. I think I’ll make a couple of separate posts, so this does not become convoluted, but my most immediate need is finding some resolution for the increasing pain I am

Help please
I don't really have a question just a plea for help. My story is very complicated and to go through everything would be too much for you all to read. After appalling treatment through West Herts Trust. I was told after emergency surgery that I had stage 4 Endo and it was in my bowel. Ovary with an Endo

Tinnitus louder than usual
I had inflammation in my right ear with headache, doctor gave me Otomize, but the headache was still there, went back to the doctor told me to see a pharmacist, they gave me nurofen, didn’t help, went back to the doctor again, they gave me antibiotics and codeine, this seemed to make my headaches worse

internal shingles
hi, I’ve been diagnosed with internal shingles and it’s the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I’m on my last day of Aciclovir, I’m taking paracetamol and codeine during the day and 3 amitriptyline at night, this has been going on for over a week. Is this normal? Any advice gladly accepted
