It has presented with v painful ulcers on both my feet and ankles and neuropathy . Has anyone any tips re topical creams I use oilatum at present. Rheumy started me on pregabalin but only took for 10 days as I kept dozing all day and had brain fog. Now take codeine for the pain I also have osteoarthritis in my right knee I try to keep upbeat but I am finding it harder every day to stay positive. I have a loving and supportive family who have been marvellous. I would be very grateful for any help. Thank you

Isn't it horrible having weeping painful legs! As well as everything else! If you have ulcers you should be receiving frequent care from a properly trained nurse. She will be the best person to advise you about suitable creams for your skin which will not clash with the treatment for the ulcers.
I haven't found the ointments I was given by the dermatologist helpful (thick paraffin base) as it just sat on top of the skin. I found that a cream base was easier to smooth into the skin and was less painful to apply and that it didn't matter terribly what I used as long as I put it on often enough to protect the skin. Cetraban worked quite well and also an oatmeal based cream. Olive oil has become rather expensive!
The most important thing of course is to try and reduce any accumulation of fluid which delays skin healing, with elevation and compression, possibly with diuretics.
