respiratory medicine
I have an appointment at the hospital for respiratory medicine consultation. They have requested that I bring- peak flow diary, all medication and my asthma management plan. I have never had a peak flow diary or asthma management plan, should I have been given these by my doctor?

Luforbec review
I try not to be negative about any changes to my asthma medication, but I am struggling with Luforbec. I use a spacer and as I inhale there is a sensation of residue/powder hitting the back of my throat, making it impossible not to break off the inhalation, to cough. I hope I can get used to the unpleasant

Circle of Life: A Journey Through Asthma and Environmental Factors
In the realm of asthma, personal experiences can be as diverse as the individuals themselves. At the age of 15, I entered the asthmatic world, a journey that has shaped me in ways I never anticipated. Now at 33, I find myself feeling remarkably better, with my asthma remaining dormant for the past

Congestion
I have Bronchiectasis and Asthma, over the past month or so I am continually congested with unpleasant mucus. I had a few days of, for me, severe asthma, which was sorted out with a short course of prednisolone. I just cannot seem to get rid of the congestion, keeping me awake at night and I am so

?asthma
a few years ago after a bout of bronchitis which I often got in the winter I was given asthma pumps, I’ve never been sure if I had asthma. Following wheezing when I lay down or even in the day my doctor listened to my chest and sent me for a chest X-ray, this showed a shadow on my lung and I was sent

Severe infrequent asthma attack
Hi,Has anyone had infrequent (twice in 2 years in my partners case) severe asthma attack where the inhaler does not work? What causes it? What do you do? How do you manage it? Paramedics put it down to anxiety attack as she was fine by the time they turned up. Is there a chance of it happening again?

Asthma or something more sinister?
So I'm mid asthma diagnosis at the moment, I'm on a steroid inhaler twice a day after having, what I assume was an asthma attack whilst on holiday in Rome. Long story short I tried a dodgy vape pen whilst out there that immediately gave me an allergic reaction (very smart I know)Ever since that ill

Is asthma one of the most serious conditions out there?
I don’t mean to trigger anxiety by this so please don’t take it as factual in anyway it is just a question I was thinking to myself though isn’t asthma one of the most serious/dangerous conditions there is and therefore shouldn’t it warrant free prescriptions? For example not many other conditions

Qvar for asthma plan
Hi, I’ve been asthmatic for 9 years since I turned 50. I’m on fostair 200/6 x2 twice a day plus montelukast and fexofenadine. My asthma management plan now includes Qvar 100 x 12 puffs twice a day if I’m struggling. My asthma mostly manifests as a cough. I had a severe coughing experience for several

Vacationing
Hi. I was wondering what you all do to prepare for a vacation when being on an airplane and change of air quality triggers your asthma? I haven’t traveled since before the pandemic but that was also the last time I had to take prednisone. I also used to travel for two weeks so I had time for my asthma

Infuriating Asthma Appointment
So i had a follow-up appointment with my asthma consultant at the hospital today and he told me that he doesn't think I have asthma despite the fact that I have been diagnosed asthmatic most of my life and that I don't need to take inhalers or nebulisers or use steroids and antibiotics. He believes this

Bruising from high dose steroid inhaler
I have been taking fostair net 200/6 2 puffs twice a day for over 4 years. Lately in the last year I bruise more easily than I did before. I rang asthma UK helpline this afternoon and if my inhaler is the cause. The nurse said it could be the reason. She did also ask about my asthma and how many

Exhausted
I’ve had a particularly rough time recently with asthma attacks. I’ve currently got no infections, and my peak flow and vitals are fine the last few days, but I feel absolutely exhausted from an asthma attack last week. It’s to the point where I have to lie down after even going down the stairs. How

no cure
I’m pleased to see the post telling everyone about ‘how their endometriosis was cured’ has been taken down. There is NO CURE! Even if you have all diseased tissue removed you still have the disease. Some are lucky and don’t get a reoccurrence of the diseased tissue but for most the disease comes back
