Asthma + Lung UK are holding an online focus group on Thursday 21 September to inform the development of a new trial for a new type of asthma reliever inhaler for children aged 4-11 years old.
We’re looking for parents and carers of children with asthma who would be happy to share their experiences of asthma action plans, views on the medication prescribed to their children, and any information they think would be helpful to someone whose child might be involved in the trial.
We’d love to hear from any parents or carers of children with asthma. However, at the moment, not enough is understood about why people from South Asian and Afro-Caribbean backgrounds are more likely to be hospitalised with asthma. If you’re part of these groups, we’d especially welcome your input to ensure this trial can be as effective as possible.
You’ll receive £25 honorarium (thank you payment) for your time. Please email Anna (respiratoryinsights@asthmaandlung.org.uk) if you are interested in taking part.
Using spirometry to manage children’s asthma
Developed in partnership by Asthma + Lung UK and SPIROMAC (a study being led by University of Aberdeen), this 10-minute survey will ask about your child's asthma, their experiences with spirometry, and their knowledge of spirometry. A swift few clicks could make a big difference to the way children with asthma experience diagnosis and condition management. Click below to complete the survey!
We will be holding a focus group after this survey has closed. There will be a £25 thank you payment for anyone who participates in this. If you would like to hear more about this when a date is agreed, please contact Anna (respiratoryinsights@asthmaandlung.org.uk).
