it feels like I'll never get better
Hi! I've had constant air hunger every day since June. During my early teens, I was diagnosed with asthma caused by cats. I got prescribed Ventolin which I used when in contact with cats, it helped. I never had any other issues with asthma. As I was young, the allergy tests only confirmed me being

childhood asthma
hi all, I had childhood asthma which completely left as I was 12. However it came back last year when I got food poisoning. I constantly feel like air hunger, wheezing and chest tightness. It makes me so anxious I feel like I could have lung cancer which makes no sense I have a blue inhaler and

Covid causing Asthma flare
I had Covid nearly two weeks ago and I've been left with this lingering cough and occasional breathlessness and I've also been finding that I'm using my Ventolin inhaler more, my chest doesn't feel tight but sometimes i just get very out of breath and it's hard to catch my breath. I've found that box

No More Ventolin?
Just put my repeat prescription in to be told Ventolin can't be issued because I already have a regular inhaler, the RelvarEllipta. I have talked myself hoarse explaining that the Relvar is a MAINTENANCE inhaler and the Ventolin is a RELIEVER inhaler without getting anywhere. I've literally just had

Visiting Japan / Tree Pollen
Hi everyone, my daughter is doing a year abroad in Japan for her university course and I am contemplating making the trip of a lifetime next year with my husband to go there, maybe early March or in May, to see her and see a bit of the country. Fostair and throat/voice irritation
Hi all, I recently had a severe asthma episode and was put on fostair 200/6 twice a day. My asthma now seems fine. However, my voice is weaker, and more hoarse than it was pre medication. I am throat clearing lots. This is accompanied by sticky mucus in the throat which is irritating my vocal cords.

Incorrect Hospital Records
Hi, I’ve been having some problems with the respiratory team and requested a copy of my hospital records, which I’ve received. After going through them, there’s lots of information missing and details which are incorrect. I’m a severe asthmatic, and the consultant has now noted “no definitive diagnosis

severe asthma
Hi I just wanted to know do doctors diagnose severe asthma on its own or does it always come with another diagnosis? Also, in severe asthma how can you tell if it’s uncontrolled or is just being persistent i.e. having a bad day as persistent severe asthma can mean you need reliever frequently and

trimbow in asthma
Just started on trimbow after using Spiriva Respimat and Symbicort, and the steroid component is just not enough to keep my asthma under control. Has anyone ever used it together with fostair or symbicort? I know one isn't supposed to but maybe some consultants prescribe two steroid inhalers? Thank

How would a rational person deal with this? What would be their thought process?
This has been going on a while now maybe I am too dumb to rationally reduce my anxiety. Basically I have had the condition Chronic rhinosinitis with polyps since I was 23. Twelve years later I have been under ent had ct scans which have shown some sinus thickening, they said it didn’t look too bad

Fracture Risk
***Moderator addition: please keep in mind as you read this thread and the replies that while inhaled steroids can have some side effects, not everyone will be affected, and
untreated or poorly controlled asthma is also very harmful and can be fatal.

Hi Jim here, Basically I’m 50 and was on Phyllocontin from about 10 years old and my asthma was completely controlled. About 10 years ago I was told it couldn’t be prescribed this anymore, and got the ‘there are better inhalers lecture’ ‘you shalt see asthma nurse’ thing. Ever since then my asthma has
