I love where I currently live but the last time I climbed the stairs to my

Interesting article...
I was looking up the effect that weight has on asthma, and came across an interesting article from the American Lung Association. They say that people with a BMI index higher than 30, have more trouble breathing (due to their weight) and have more “asthma” symptoms. It was interesting because I was wondering

Is my mother Asthma?
My mother is 80 years old. She was taking Asthma meds since long years. But 3 years ago her doctor told her attacks are only in Autmn and she can get meds only that season. However my mother got self confident and exagerrated by never taking asthma meds. Since 3 years ago she did not have asthma attacks

Asthma and coronavirus
Hello there! I was diagnosed with coronavirus on 2 of July (blood test) apparently I had coronavirus back in March/April. I also have asthma but no symptoms since 15 years. Since Mars 2020 I have some breathing issues, when I exhale I can hear a little wheezing but nothing more. I can breath normally

What do people class as an asthma attack?
It’s just that I regularly see people writing that they’ve had an
asthma
attack. I’ve got
Brittle
asthma
and generally class an attack as when I need my ventilin inhaler enough that I need steroids or end up on nebs or in hospital. I was just wondering , that’s all!

Getting back to some sort of normality!
My consultant agreed that I would be good to get back to some normality, and he included in his report to OH that given the nature of my severe
brittle
asthma
flare ups are inevitable and I can’t stay off work for the foreseeable future “just in case”.

Change in my asthma
I have just started taking Montelukast and just before lock down my Fostair was increased to 200/6 after a bad period of asthma. This was unusual and I normally struggle with my asthma in the winter months and not spring / summer. I am controlling my asthma at the moment but it has changed where I now

What Happens at the Severe/Difficult Asthma Clinic
Severe asthma should only be diagnosed by a specialist at a severe asthma clinic (beforehand and even after diagnosis you’ll probably hear lots of terms including severe
asthma
, difficult
asthma
and
brittle
asthma
thrown around, technically these do mean different things but are often used by healthcare

Hi All, I’ve had asthma for a long time but it’s changed in the last year, I know present as non wheezing and I lose my voice, I’ve had 5 episodes this year 1 of which put in hospital for a short time but I don’t think the doctors believe me as I don’t wheeze, does anyone else have the same symptoms?

Much more wheezing over the past month
I've had well controlled asthma pretty much all my life. However the past month or so I've been getting a lot more wheezing and having to take my ventolin much more often (pretty much once a day, whereas it used to be about once a week). I had my annual asthma review (by phone this time for obvious reasons

Back to School
We're calling on parents and carers of children with asthma to contact their child's GP surgery to arrange an annual asthma review, which can often be done remotely, as this will help to make sure their condition is well controlled, and can even cut the risk of an asthma attack. If your child's asthma

Not sure who to believe at this point.
Hello everyone, hope you're having a splendid day, feeling healthy, and staying safe. I made a post on this forum 3 months ago and the responses I got were very positive and made me hopeful that I'm not alone in this mess. I was "diagnosed" with asthma three months ago and prescribed a corticosteroid
