Anyone out there struggling with memory and emotions post attacks?

Hi I have Severe/Brittle Asthma commonly caused by my allergies. I was diagnosed just over 2 years ago, although I could have been diagnosed 3-4 years ago. According to my husband I've had 10 Asthma Attacks in the last month, 14 in total this year and 21 in total in the last 18 months. I haven't got much of a recollection of what's happened in the last 4 weeks and I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? I also find that I'm having nightmares recurring from my childhood nightmares which is causing me to wake up in shock and my husband spends ages trying to calm me down. I've been put on a weaning course of steroids for 4 weeks. Tomorrow I start the 2nd week of the weaning process. Hopefully it will help my asthma calm down whilst I wait for my referral to come through for St Barts Hospital in London.

Thanks for reading

Bless you.

I do hope that you feel better soon and find an excellent respiratory team.

I also have severe asthma as well as large bone lesion-I do find if poorly with asthma I don't realise how bad I am until it's ambulance time .

Whether this is due to lower sats causing confusion I don't know.

Hope you get sorted soon.

Best of luck

Hi NineLives sorry for not replying sooner to you. I was taken in to Resus again yesterday with another Severe Asthma Attack. 10/11 now ( I've lost count) between July & August. Just hoping my appointment with St Barts Hospital in London will happen sooner rather than later. The downsides I have to taking Prednisone aside from the emotional impact is that I get terrible toothache (as I have wisdom teeth attached to the nerves in my jaw), bloated tummy, muscle pain and I'm up half the night not able to sleep. That and they taste like cardboard to me... Random I know but true.

Thanks for reaching out to me.

All the best
