Rolling the Dice After All
Hi everyone, Here is my update after a really thorough appointment with my Oncologist in Bath, with lots of input from my husband and daughter. We all discussed the options and decided, together, not to pursue surgery at this time, as my new growth is very small and weekly Taxol would be the mop up

Contemplating switching from Femara to Anastrazole
Hi! Afraid of change, per usual. Anyone make this change previously? The reason my oncologist suggested it was the side effects of letrozole (maybe Ibrance too) @ times put me down-as I feel like day after car accident feels or I’m 80-90 years old. My reluctance to change is for following reasons: 1

Just three years ago, I had small stage 1 cancer followed by lumpectomy and radiation. All was done so it would not return. About six months ago, it was back and crazy. I'm now taking Ibrance and Anastrozole. It has been difficult, but fortunately, I'm tolerating the medication quite well. Now the

Great news and busy times
Sorry it has been a while since I posted but lots has been happening. On May 30 I had a bilateral mastectomy. July 8 I had to go back in because the right tissue expander had staph infection. On August 2 teachers started back to work in classrooms and kids started the 12. On Aug. 17 I got the results

Still on the roller coaster.
Where to begin.....On Friday morning I heard that my house buyer had withdrawn their offer and pulled out. At the same time I was told another potential buyer had made an offer which I was happy to accept😊. Still on Friday morning I had an email from Rightmove with a new offering - this time one that

Roll the DICE Trial, anyone
Here I am again. Disappointingly struggling to find a suitable option for taking up arms to defeat this thing. This week I met Susanna Banerjee of the Royal Marsden to discuss possible trials on offer for the likes of me. BRCA1 positive, yet now classified as PARP resistant. It was good hearing this

Liquid biopsy approved
Making progress. The biopsy for Pic mutation has been approved. The test will check for 100 mutations and what treatments are specific to each mutation. Supposed to start xeloda this week. Test takes 2-3 weeks. Costs a fortune. My doc’s office put in for financial assistance for the test for me and I

My news on Fenbendazole
Yesterday I received the results of my bloodwork since I started Fenbendazole on August 16 and was so happy and relieved that my tumor markers went down CA15-3 from 55.44 to 44.74 and CEA from 15.86 to 15.08. My liver enzymes, creatinine, BUN and CBC were all normal (well normal for my ANC is 1.065)

Just started on letrozole
I’m new here but I’ve really learned a lot by reading you lovely ladies posts. I’ve had a lumpectomy two weeks ago, no chemo will know if I’ve to have radiation when I see oncologist on 6/9, when I’ll hopefully get pathology results. I’ve started on letrozole on Friday so far no side effects but know

faslodex
Has anyone had sciatic nerve pain from nurse injecting faslodex shot in sciatic nerve, rather than the buttock muscles. If so, how long did the pain last. I read that this is sometimes done accidentally. It scares me. Blessings, Hannah

Am I unrealistic post hysterectomy
I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy, ovaries removed, bowel shave and endo removal just coming up to 4 weeks ago. I was discharge after 1 night in hospital and thought I was recovering well until 10 days post op when I started bleeding very heavy and ended up back in hospital for a few days on antibiotics

Breast cancer history
I was first diagnosed with stage zero breast cancer in 2000 when I was 45. I had a lumpectomy and radiation. 17 years later in 2017 it came back. (Both times in right breast) I had a double mastectomy and 8 cancerous lymph nodes removed. Stage 3. I had chemo and radiation. In August 2018, I

Biopsy results
I had my monthly treatments and i know my biopsy results. It tested positive for breast cancer in my axillary lymph node. I will be having radiation for 5 weeks every day because of soft tissue. The radiation doctor says it was caught in time where it is not large (1.7cm). I have changed treatments from

Xeloda, biopsy, piqray insanity
Hi everyone saw doc yesterday came home with headache. Have to get approval for xeloda treatment. The liquid biopsy needs approval thousands of $ for the test. Then if I have mutation need approval for that treatment. I am going to have to work as school nurse again to keep commercial insurance coverage

Life's ups and downs
Sometimes things chug along nicely and sometimes things gum up the works so that nothing goes right. Not sure where I'm at, at the moment but things could be better. The last week in June I put my house up for sale, the 3rd of July having found a lump in my breast i went to the walk in clinic
