Not again!!
Rant incoming! I thought I was just getting in to a really decent run, and was pretty stable on my reducing course of prednisolone (had got down to 25mg over a few weeks). Then the wet weather appeared yesterday and I went from totally fine to being on the border of a severe/life threatening attack in

Being nebuliser in A &E
When I had my asthma attack recently I went to A &E and was treated with a neubliser. The nurse who gave it to me was just going to set it up and leave me to it. I did stop here before she just set it up and asked a few questions. I never had this treatment before but have been aware of it through this

Afternoon tea from mothers day
I know its a day late but I wasn't able to post this up until I learn how. Yesterday started not very well with me having to go to A &E in the very wee hours with an asthma attack. Spent 6 hours being treated and arrived home at 7am in the morning, having had very little sleep. Came home feed the guinea

Another trip to A&E
Last night I woke up with the beginnings of an asthma attack at 12:30 am. My throat was really itchy and I started to cough. I gave myself ventolin 2 puffs initial then 2 more etc til I got to 10. Still no improvement but peak flow was perfect. So got up and found my husband who hadn't gone to bed

Top tips for coping with asthma
Make sure you have an asthma action plan. Make sure your emergency inhaler or nebulizer is ready to go. Take your emergency inhalers everywhere. I have one in my bedroom and one in my purse. Make sure you also have your maintence inhaler with you at all times. Again, I have one in my bedroom and one

Just joined the conversation. I was diagnosed with abpa May2017. Actually started September2016 but no Dr smart enough to catch it until pulmonologist. Been doing nebulizer with perforamist and a steroid in evening. Symbicor puffer morning. 300mg gabapentin 3 times daily and 10mg prednisone daily. Plus

Injections
I had a meeting with my new consultant yesterday about new treatments as I have been steroid reliant for over 6 months now constantly. He has decided to put me on injections starting next week until the actual long term injections start in a few months. He has a board meeting with some other consultants

What I know 21,595 days later !
First I don't remember being diagnosed, I just remember I've had this breathing problem my whole life. One thing I know now is take Asthma very seriously. I learned the hard I've almost died a couple times because I waited to long to see a doctor for instance ended up with pneumonia due to a lung infection

How to use my inhaler and to get a spacer for the inhaler. How to use the nebulizer. That I could save money by going through the internet and buying certain items like the spacer instead of going through insurance. That there are other choices If I cannot tolate Albutrol.

My Allergist/Pulmonologist is not taking my Bronchiectasis seriously.
I have been given Trelegy Elipta inhaler, nothing more, and told that my Broncheictiasis is mild so not to worry about it and dismissed. I am to short of breath to go up our stairs to do laundry, and even walking at a brisk pace is impossible anymore. I have read about therapy for this condition, but

Ongoing fatigue post chest infection
Just need some advice please. I was admitted to hospital after 3 weeks of having a chest infection, hacking cough and feeling poorly. I had 6 days of IV antibiotics and nebulisers. I underwent various investigations such as CT Scan of my lungs to rule out a ‘flare up’ of my Vasculitis and saw the ENT

Snowed in with Asthma flare up.
My asthma with its amazingly good timing as always has decided to flare up badly now that I am stuck at home behind half a mile of snowdrifts between me and the car. The road to the doctors or to hospital is blocked with drifts in both directions. I’m ok for now, had a really rough night sat up not

Nebuliser for Emphysema
I have Emphysema and my Doctor and Consultant have mentioned do I have a nebuliser. I don't have one so told to take 4 puffs off Ventolin before II get up. I have seen many different nebulisers for sale anyone recommend any. Also can you get one from NHS for free? What do I put in nebuliser?

Anyone else struggling
I love the snow because it means I don't have to go to college but it hasn't been good on my lungs though I'm a brittle asthmatic and the dramatic changes in the weather has definitely made this week hard I had paramedics out last night for nebuliser and wasn't taken to hospital because I didn't feel

Has anyone seen GMB?
I've just been watching Good Morning Britain and there was a really sad story of a little girl who was sent home by her GP because she was a few minutes late to an emergency appointment and she died. It's ridiculous she was obviously needing to be seen A couple of weeks ago I went to the GP after

Went to er last nite.
I had a racing heart and sob after doing duo nebs and could barely talk. The oxygen in the ambulance helped and calmed it down a lot. My chest xray and ct scan were fine. The er doctor just thought tachycardia and that it was tachycardia and albuterol that made it go out of control. However, i read
