Two years on.
Hi to all the community, I was told 2 years ago that I had difficult to control asthma after being rushed to hospital. The doctors found that I had pick up viral bronchitis that my body was not able to fight on it's own. On top of this it also set of late onset asthma. Fast ward to four weeks ago when

I was diagnosed with asthma as a child, it was never really bad, I had a couple of attacks as a teenager but nothing major. I'm 25 now and haven't had an inhaler or anything for over 10 years I thought my asthma had just gone away. About a month ago a developed a cough, went to my GP when it didn't

Long term pred users
How long have some of you been on prednisilone? Years? Sadly it's looking increasingly likely I will be taking it long term because inhaled steroids simply have little or no effect. The doctors have expressed concern about the long term side effects but I have little option - without them I would almost

Bad St Patrick day
Hello everyone yesterday was a very scary day. I was weezing as I always all day but as the day went on I had a horrid cough that was leading to vomiting I couldn't breath at all so my partner called an ambulance all my seats were down an I was given nebuliser /oxygen. My blood sugars were also low.

Still in hospital
So despite everything I'm still in hospital. My peak flows have been better for around 18 hours although I'm more wheezy today than I was yesterday. They are letting me trial inhalers today in the hope my peak flows don't drop again. My worry is ive been on prednisolone for 4 weeks already and I don't

Predisone & nebulizer to Azithromysin
Hi, I got my emphysema diagnosis 7 years ago, though I knew it was coming years before that from smoking for 48 years. Last winter I was in terrible shape with an exacerbation that lasted 6 months. I had five stints of prednisone and was put on oxygen. I went from inhalers to nebulizers and recovered

The drugs
For some time my COPD had been getting much worse. I had sudden episodes where I was totally helpless and was gasping desperately for a breath of air. This could happen up to 5 or 6 times a day. Eventually, after an emergency call for an ambulance, I was admitted to hospital and spent a week there during
