I have Emphysema and my Doctor and Consultant have mentioned do I have a nebuliser. I don't have one so told to take 4 puffs off Ventolin before II get up. I have seen many different nebulisers for sale anyone recommend any. Also can you get one from NHS for free? What do I put in nebuliser?

Nebuliser for Emphysema
Hi, if you buy one you have to ask you GP or consultant to give you a Prescription for the right things for you. My sister-in-law says to use your Ventolin as the GP told you its as good as a nebuliser. She was told to use a spacer(bubble) to do it.
Hope you are breathing easier, I was told to walk instead of sitting to use a nebuliser.

Hi andyput I use a nebuliser which I got from the NHS about eight years ago. I got mine through my consultant at the hospital. The meds to go with it I get on monthly prescriptions from GP. I really don't know if you can still get one on the NHS, but you could ask GP or consultant. Good luck ✋️😊
Thank you stumpy55 my consultant asked me if I had a nebuliser. Will have to find out.
Hi stumpy do you get the shakes after using nebuliser? I do some times if I use 5 puffs
Hi there andyput, no I don't get the shakes after using my nebuliser. I think we may have different nebuliser's because with mine I put the medication into the face mask and when I turn it on it's constant steam. I think we have different things because you mention doingfive puffs.
