Can too much ventolin make asthma symptoms worse ?
Hi! Since I've been struggling to breath for months due to an asthma flare up triggered by the flu, I've been using a lot of ventolin. I have been using it more and more since I feel like my condition is getting worse and I have more intense symptoms. Lately, I noticed that right after taking ventoline

A breathless week!
I haven’t had asthma symptoms for over 10 years, not currently on any daily inhalers and never experienced persistent breathlessness like this. Historically, my chest only wheezed when I was on a nebuliser or needed one there and then. A few days prior to the following, the base/back of both sides of

Left alone in corridor in ED
I am currently sat in ED after coming in with sats of 84% and a bad attack. After initial oxygen and nebs I have been left alone in a chair in corridor. Not even seen a doctor yet. And feel a bit lost or as to plan. I am also getting wheezy again. What are the odds of being discharged?

Nebuliser recommendations?
Hi, I'm currently stuck in hospital. Day 15 😩 Was hoping to go home Saturday but SATs dropped after going back to machine driven nebs and have been iffy since. I've been using my neb machine (Omron C28p) here as theirs take 25+ mins per neb, often 30 or 40 which does my head in when I need it to work

How long should oral steroids be taken ?
Hi! I'm currently suffering from an asthma flare up (I've posted about this before) and I'm struggling to gain control over it. My asthma has never been this bad I even had no idea it could be like that. So I started a short course of oral steroids 5 days ago hoping it would calm the inflammation and

my latest news
Well ladies, I have had a full six months first with Radiotheraphy and then as a result horrible diahroea. I wasn't well going for the Rt but it seems that wasn't picked up in Dublin. I coped with the side effects as best I could. It was a nuisance and my appetite just went. So back to my own Oncologist

Finally started the short course of oral steroids
Hi everyone! After my asthma started to get worse again 4 days ago, I finally decided to take the oral steroids even though I was terrified of the adverse effects. I was in a situation where nothing else was working, nebs were no longer useful they only lasted one hour and I still had trouble breathing

Does the body get used to ventolin ?
Hi! I've had a horrible time with my asthma during the past 4 months and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be getting any better right now. As a result of this, I've started to take more puffs of ventoline (sometimes more than 10 in one day!) otherwise I couldn't do anything. However, I noticed that

Am I at risk of an attack?
Here's a overview of my relationship with the condition. I've had Asthma since a early age. I was hospitalised about 4 years of age and had to have a nebuliser then, but not anything serious like that ever since. I've recently got a spacer and I'm taking Ventolin and a 125 dose of Seritide 2 puffs, twice

Failed by asthma care
It’s been a while since I have posted on here as I’ve been trying to muddle along but after a really tough week with my asthma and trying to get the care I need, I felt I needed to post. I did an event with work last week and on the Wednesday my chest felt tight but I cleared it myself with my Ventolin

Asthma attack
My asthma has been really bad the past couple of days, have been wheezing quite a lot but just got by until Sunday morning it was x10 worse from 10am -2pm. I rang 111 and they told me to get it checked at the hospital. I was given a nebuliser twice, fluids and had several tests and xrays done. I’m now

New to this group and hoping for thoughts
Hi, My local hospital are struggling and I am stuck in a round of catch 22 so hoping that there may be someone who can point me in a better direction! I have had asthma since childhood, generally only exacerbated by virus or allergies. 9 years ago everything went haywire and I ended up having very frequent
