Nebuliser recommendations?

Hi,

I'm currently stuck in hospital. Day 15 😩

Was hoping to go home Saturday but SATs dropped after going back to machine driven nebs and have been iffy since. I've been using my neb machine (Omron C28p) here as theirs take 25+ mins per neb, often 30 or 40 which does my head in when I need it to work quickly. They have Innospire Deluxe nebs but I think the masks aren't as compatible as they should be so it's slower.

Anyway, my machine has always been ok before but resp nurse wonders if my machine isn't driving properly so not getting the proper effect. It's highly likely I've killed it as 2 years old and gets A LOT of use.

So....any recommendations? I've got an Innospire Go for out and about but would want my mains powered one to be semi portable for going to my sister's etc. Wondered about the Innospire Essence?

Or of course could just replace with another one like I have, just one that's not dead.

Hi, sorry to hear you're still stuck in hosp! Hope not too much longer...

I don't know what you did for your first set but when I got my first one earlier this year I was advised to call Evergreen aa they can talk you through the best options depending on what you want (eg hands free, quiet etc) and what you'll be nebbing. I found them very helpful for getting my portable (Omron U100) and would use them if I bought one for home (currently still using the Philips Innospire on loan from hosp which is quick but loud!).

Well, it turns out my machine was really dying. Respiratory nurse took it to the equipment place for testing. It's working at 20% of what it should. Eek. It didn't seem slower so no way of knowing until the last few days. Sats at 10am were 89. Wonderful. Anyway new machine ordered. Respiratory nurse recommended the Innospire Deluxe like they have here. Hope it's quick with proper Phillips masks. With the masks here with the green bases it takes half an hour. Now I know I've not got a train to catch or anything, but half an hour when you need the relief (and have had to wait for a buzzer to be answered and a neb to appear) isn't exactly helpful. So at the mo I've got their machine and my machine's mask which is quicker than their cheapy masks. Apparently I need a hospital grade machine for how much I need it. Lucky me.

Aeroneb makes a great travel one! So sorry to hear you’ve been in the hospital for so long, sounds so frustrating!!

I use Pari nebs. They are fast and efficient.

My home neb machine is an InnoSpire deluxe but I use with it the Pari LC Sprint nebuliser and for my steroids the Pari LC Sprint Star which creates a much finer particle size mist and I find that a lot more effective. It also has an optional filter to stop meds going into the environment for other people to inhale.

My portable neb is Pari E-flow Rapid which is extremely good. Very expensive too though.

I hope you feel better soon and can go home. Hospital sucks.

The respiratory nurse took my machine to the equipment place and apparently it was only working at 20% of what it should. Eek. When my previous one had been on the the way out, it got slower. This showed no signs like that that but she said it wouldn't be processing the medication properly. So I'd had the whole weekend not getting the nebs so in effect it was like a constant underlying asthma attack going on.

Anyway, I switched back to theirs in the meantime and ordered a new one. She said to get an innospire deluxe because I need a robust one with the use it gets it's pretty good with the proper mask so hopefully I'll be happy with it!

Came home yesterday too (nurses were poised to lend me a machine if mine hadn't arrived as they didn't want me to only have my portable one) so just slept in my own bed....bliss!
