Tachycardia and Ventolin (child)
My 6 year old son is a severe asthmatic, who regularly has 10 puffs at a time. His heart rate used to go up significantly with the use of ventolin, however now it rarely happens, he maintains a normal heart rate unless he has back to back nebs. Has anyone else had this where the heart rate doesn't change

Problems one year post Nissan fundelication surgery
Last year post surgery for achalasia it opened the floodgates for acid to come up. Instead of the opening being the size of a dime or was the size of a pingpong ball. The damage was severe causing me to choke pn "battery acid" that burned everything on up including my lungs...thoat...mouth...eyes..

Going home
Hello all, I am going home bone biopsy ok 👌🏼 so they will get haematology to come see me. Who will give me instructions. I won’t be leaving until late afternoon so just a little longer here. I was told I was going back with new drugs - I think this was what they said. https://www.macmillan.org.uk

Dreaded nebuliser
I have finally been battered into having Ventolin in my nebuliser. It feels like the next step to deterioration in my condition (Lung Cancer) which there aren’t very many on here with this. It made my breathing better but I did feel very shaky afterwards and my heart started racing, is this normal?

Dry powder inhalers irritation
Hi, Following an asthma flare up I've tried several inhalers (none of them worked) and I noticed something strange with the ones that use dry powder. For example, two weeks ago, I was having what seemed like an exacerbation (sore and tight chest, difficulty breathing) and ventolin didn't do much so I

Unusual symptoms
Hi, My symptoms have worsened this week and today I have symptoms that I find extremely worrying. I feel an itching sensation in my upper chest as if there was an irritation or inflammation. What is weird is that it seems to irradiate in my right lung. And my right lung hurts when I take deep breaths

Lungs are in trouble
Wow think I should have read previous post before sending. Lol. They are tearing the mill next door not milk. I also see a osteopathic doctor for manipulation to help me breathe better. I take spiriva symbicort rescue inhaler nebulizer. Vitamins because a lot of foods I can’t eat. Two fruits I can

My lungs are in trouble
Well haven’t been in here in a while. Need suggestions. I can’t take a lot of stuff due to salicylate sensitivity. (Preservative) so honey out of the question. They started tearing the milk down next to where I work. I just finished a round of prednisone. Taking nebulizer twice a day and using

Good deed (anything for mum)
Did my good deed for the day/year for my mum, took her to London to see my aunt who lives in Woolwich yesterday. Apart from the stress of the journey (1 1/2 hours) which I haven’t done since my operation and driving around a strange place with the cars driving like lunatics and the air so thick and

Nebuliser
My Mum recently passed away with CPOD and I have a nebuliser that may be of use to someone. I am aware that these things can be expensive so if anyone has a need for this, I will be happy to give it to you, no charge.

Pulmonary function test and race
Hi. I recently found my pulmonary function test from last year. For the first time I noticed two errors. One was my race which said Caucasian and I’m not and second it said I used albuterol nebulizer to test reversibility and I actually made a mistake and took spiriva. My allergist knew I made a mistake

Had Enough ( Trigger Warning )
Sorry if this goes on a bit but for the past few years I have been getting worse to the point I am on oxygen all the time. I Also take about 17 tablets in the morning and 7 at night..that's not including nebulizer and pain relief. I see a psychologist but that's not helping much. I was just looking at

The funny side of ICU and a long-term hospital stay.
Hi everyone. So, although my trauma was terrible and savage (sepsis, multi organ faliure, pneumonia, ARDS, ECMO) I just want to take the time to talk about the lighter more humorous side of being in hospital, and some of the truly wonderful memories I have from being there. I hope some of you can relate

Post attack advice please
Hi all So Tuesday i ended up going to a+e on blues and twos from my GP surgey. This is the first time it's happened. I know I grumbled about the asthma care I've received from my surgery but to be fair to them, they were brilliant. I had been struggling for a few days and using my ventolin A LOT.

Preventer still not working after a month
Hi! I have been using Seretide 250 as a preventer for a month and I still feel the same. I know that it can take several months to see the full effect but I thought that I would at least start to feel a little improvement. I still have to use ventolin several times a day and my nebs three times a day
