NY Times Report: 9 PwP Lost Ability to Swim After DBS
This is a blow for those of us looking at DBS further down the road as a possible last-resort therapy, but I guess it will be a matter of weighing up the pros and cons when we have to confront the choice to go ahead or not. Has anyone in this community who’s had DBS encountered the same issue? https

Duopa pump and my day at work
Today at work in the interventional radiology department, i had a patient that was a pwp. He was there to have a tube replacement for his duopa pump system. Ice cream headache feeling after going out and aftermath
It has gotten very cold up here. I went out yesterday and the cold hit me like an ice cream headache. I have felt really dizzy, feel like I want to walk, stumble to the right and I feel sicky! Anyone else? I have hats but did not think it was that cold! Is this a regular? Not really been out for 5 years

Has anyone tried Nicotine to reduce Dyskinesia?
I am wondering if anyone has tried Nicotine to reduce severe episodes of dyskinesia brought on by levadopa. I watched some amazing videos by a girl named Jasmine Sturr. She has has early onset pediatric PD. She ended up doing DBS and then inventing her own levadopa pump with her feeding tube. She went

Symptom Query
Hello all, I have heard that people with Lupus or autoimmune issues are more prone to chostocondritis or other types of chest discomfort, and also haemangiomas ( benign tumour made up of blood vessels). Was wondering if others have any experience of this or this has been part of getting their diagnosis

Remission should be the holy grail
My wife is 13q mutated and started Ibrutinib as a first line treatment in January at 48 years old after 5 years of W&W This choice was made over chemo because she’s a high risk of other cancers The side effects were very painful and after a month, her hematologist decreased her dose to 2 pills a Day

Shingles and watch and wait
I am 7 years into watch and wait- no symptoms other than steadily increasing wbc(. 200now) . Last week diagnosed with shingles and got antiviral medication , which is hopefully clearing it up. My question is , does getting shingles signal the need to start treatment? Should I let my consultant know,

I had been having awful headaches which lead to treacherous body aches after so many Er visits all test were negative. I started
