Hi folk - this is going to be a moan post so feel free to pass by!
I am an ACHD patient (diagnosed 3 years ago ages 68) with a fenestrated Atrial septum which is quite large 1.8cm x 0.8cm with a couple of cross-bands. I am having a cardiac cathertisation on Thursday to check the pressures etc and see if the holes is repairable by a) catheter or b) if it will require open heart surgery. My husband seems to think that they should do the repair there and then, instead of doing it later. I have tried to explain to him the way these things work with MDT's involved in care etc. Half of me thinks he is really worried but does not want to show it, and the other half of me thinks he does not understand the severity of the condition. Due to Covid he has not been able to come to any consultations with me. Sorry for the moan - just needed to get it off my chest.
