In reply to Amanda with a father who refused a triple heart bypass and has type 2 diabetes. I had a triple heart bypass in 2017 3 months after my wife died.. I do wonder if my wife dying of a brain tumour brought it on. It was not good as 12 months later I had sternal dehiscence and a epigastric hernia

Atrial Tachycardia after Ablation
1 week following my PVI ablation, what my EP described as 'typical atrial tachcardia' ocurred, which has now (4 weeks later) become permanent. My HR is between 120 - 130 and will not shift. He says this will need treating with a more straightforward ablation. But I believe this is unlikely until 3 months

Scar Tissue After ZSR Staple Circumcision
Hi. Hoping for some advice. My mid twenties son had the ZSR circumcision over 6 months ago. He had suffered with tight foreskin, and was advised this would fix the problem. Unfortunately the procedure went slightly wrong and the Dr had to remove a small portion of the skin with a scalpel. Long story

AF and Heart Parameters
I experienced AF first in 2012. It was recorded in Holter Monitoring. On medication since then. Holter Monitoring done once in a year. No episode recorded. Actually my episodes occur suddenly last for few seconds. ECG sometimes show tachycardia, Echocardiography is normal, TMT recent time is negative

10k training run
Hi folks 🤗 just thought I'd update you on how my training is going. Today I'm up to 6k run I could pinch myself as never thought I'd get to do anything like that again!! Feeling good though wee bit knee trouble now and then. But nothing a pain killer and deep heat can sort. I'm joining a park run group

Mitral valve (moderate)regurgitation and AF.
Has anyone with AF been diagnosed with MVR? What is the treatment, can you still have an ablation or perhaps......this may not be needed if the valve is repaired? To me it does seem pointless having an ablation if the Regurgitation is the cause of AF and this is not addressed first. On the plus side

2 months post ablation and frequent extrasystoles.
So I'm 2 months from my 1st ablation and supposed to now stop taking Flecainide but I seem to be permanently having extrasystoles, having hardly had them at all previously. They are fairly asymptomatic with me only sometimes feeling palpitations. I've also had a couple of Afib episodes but it's the sudden

Blood thinner options...
Diagnosed earlier this year. Working my way through due to uncomfortable physical side effects.... (Done edoxaban, rivaroxaban) on 5mg 2 x daily now. Does it follow that Apixaban if twice daily , is a lower dose therefore, more gentle on your stomach and your system? Wondering if there is ever truly

A new randomised study comparing diets
A new randomised study compares a low carbohydrate diet to the DASH diet. The conclusion: the low carb diet wins hands down. https://www.annfammed.org/content/21/3/256

Stressing
I've been a bit quiet for a while but that doesn't mean to say I've stopped running. I've been ringing the changes with my runs and really enjoying them. Our park run was cancelled last week as part of the course was flooded but I got on the treadmill instead. I've also been going to my alternative

Sinus rhythm with supraventricular ectopy.
Last December my Kardia mobile saw AFIB when I was sitting on a plane coming back from Egypt. It is not the first time, in fact there have been dozens of times when I have seen it. I went to the GP and he sent the kardia output to the cardiologist. Several cardiologists disagreed about the kardia
