Help with blood test results

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos over 40 yrs ago following removal of thyroid gland due to large goitre. Had some blood tests requested by my private Endo and just seen the result of one in particular in my GP app (even tho surgery said they couldn’t carry out the blood tests for private patients!). They’d taken B12 blood test at the same time and that result was in my app the following day. So, here are the two results:

serum B12 544.0 ng/L

Se thyroid peroxidase Ab conc. 4.0 IU/ml

The B12 has gone down from my last blood test. As far as I know I’ve not had the thyroxidase Ab taken before so no clue!

Hi, have you got the ranges? We need to see where your results fall within them. Lab ranges vary so without them we can’t tell you anything about your results. If they’re not on the app ask at your surgery for them & any other results they have. TSH for example. You have the right to see them

Your B12 is OK, could be higher, but you should really have the folate tested with it to know what's going on.

Without the range, difficult to say for sure, but your antibodies are more than likely negative - which wouldn't be surprising a you don't have a thyroid! If you were diagnosed with Hashi's, they were probably high in the past, but with your thyroidectomy they mostly disappeared.

Thankyou. Presently under the weather (unusual for me) so not thinking straight re ranges. I did think test came back negative but wasn't sure of the reasoning behind it. Your answer enlightens me. Will get ranges when surgery opens next week. Think when had last B12 test I was taking B12 supplement then just super B Complex. Taking nothing at present other than D3/K2 spray +magnesium body spray as enough trouble getting T4/T3 down me interspersed with amoxycillan!! Thank you again!
