MRI scan results

I have had back issues for many years but in March this flare up seemed different. I finally went private for a consultation which quickly lead to an MRI scan last week. The consultant called me within 5 days, this set off alarm bells as usually takes 2 weeks plus, to say I have a growth which he would like to investigate further around the T11 area.

The consultant then give me a list of bloods to be taken, tumour markers, I think some of them are referred to & advised I was getting an CT scan, the previous one in March was fine.

The bloods were taken on Friday , also my doctor spoke to me & added a few more tests to the list, 6 vials later, I am being advised results will be Monday, again highly unusual!!

Some of the tests include ESR, CRP, U&E, CA125, CA19 & list goes on.

Therefore was just wondering any possibility that this could be linked to my MPN ET & also because I have blood cancer could this be classed as secondary?

Thank you for any responses, as you can imagine, a very worrying time until I find out these results.

Sorry to hear about the worrisome finding. Hopefully, you will get a clear answer promptly. These types of lesions can benign entities that are not cancerous. I have had seven lipomas removed, which are not cancerous entities. It is best to be proactive when managing a MPN, however.

Please do let us know what you learn.

I expect you feel sick with worry, it's not surprising but you are being very well investigated so that is a comfort. Remember not all lesions are cancerous, my husband had one on his spinal cord which sounds bad but they removed it easily (says she who is not a surgeon) and it was not malignant and he recovered well. Good luck and fingers crossed.
