Flecainide converted my fibrillation to flutter
I started on 50mg X 2 Flecainide a few months ago after 10 years of no treatment and the effects have been life changing. However the fibrillation had now been replaced by flutter and I'm beginning to feel almost as bad again. My RHR had always been in the low 50s and BP at 125/75 but now they are prescribing

Heart Rhythms
Strange one I had open heart surgery twice in 2019 for an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm. Though as far as I know my heart was in good condition. I then had bouts of Afib following surgery. More recently I've had bouts of Tachycardia. I was in hospital recently for something else and my notes said my normal

Bisoprolol dose?
Hi. Was started on bisoprolol last June and then after MRI had phone review with consultant in January who said that my EF had improved up to 52% from 42%, but he still increased the dosage to 5mg daily! Why dosage increase? What is the maximum daily dosage people are on? Thanks

Cardio version
Hello I’m new to this AF. Still struggling to find the right levels of bisoprolol to stop this horrendous racing heart. Dr at hospital suggested getting electric shock treatment called cardio version. Has anybody had it? What was it like and did it work? Thanks

Very dry skin
Had HA and stent fitted last December. On aspirin, clopidogrel, bisoprolol, ramipril, atovorstatin, pantoprazole. Has anyone experienced very dry skin all over, especially on legs? I am using aqueous cream twice a day but skin keeps flaking off. Would one of these tablets cause this? Lily

Bisoprolol at night
Hi I see many posts about this and was just wondering if taking Bisoprolol or other beta-blockers at night doesn't make your heart beat too slowly ( especially as HR drops during sleep naturally) which can provoke Afib I think? I would be interested in hearing your views/experience. Take care Lily

Permanent AF
Hi everyone. I have recently been diagnosed with permanent AF following having paroxysmal AF for over 4 years. My heart rate never goes much beyond the 70s so no one seems worried about it, the GP has just increased my bisoprolol from 2.5 to 5mg. I am on other appropriate medication including anti

Flecainide
I see in these posts that a lot of you advise taking Flecainide an hour before meals. Why? The advice by the drug company and my doctor is to take it before, during or after meals. I have been taking it in the middle of my breakfast, should I change? Do I take Xarelto and Bisoprolol at the same time

Depressed and taking bisoprolol which hasn't stopped the Afib
Can Bisoprolol make you depressed? I have been taking this for about 4 weeks now. It really worked for the first 2 weeks. Now the atrial fibrillation is back with a vengeance and the pills don't do anything. I got Zopiclone last week which means I can sleep through it for a few hours. It's fine in the

Bisoprolol withdrawal anxiety
Eight weeks ago I came off my 1.25mg dose of Bisoprolol, my heart rate and BP settled back to normal and most other side effects faded away except for the anxiety, it’s not there all the time but things that would normally not bother me too much cause waves of horrible anxiety. Has anyone else experienced

Bisoprolol side effects
I was put on this beta blocker a few weeks ago and it is now one of 4 tablets I’m taking for heart related problems. I’ve been feeling absolutely drained, scarcely able to function beyond essentials, and my research indicated this was the likely culprit - unless my heart condition had suddenly got much

How long until Bisoprolol is completely out of system
Hi everyone. Firstly want to say thanks for the support and advice I've had here over the past few months :-) I've weaned myself off of Bisoprolol 1.25mg. Went down to half for a week and then stopped. This is now day 8 without taking any. HR has been ok. Slight increase but nothing major and I

Propafenone with bisoprolol
I'm male, 45 years old. I have been taking 2.5mg of bisoprolol once a day for a couple of years. I recently had another AF attack. 5 in total over the last 8 or so years. Was cardioverted and A&E Doc upped it to 2.5mg twice daily. Recently had a follow up with cardiologist. He wants me to start taking

Diltiazem Side Effects - Sore Throat, Red Face
Only started on Diltiazem 2 days ago for tachycardia, after trying Bisoprolol without success. Diltiazem already appears to be helping with HR and breathlessness, but am getting side effects of sore throat and very red, slightly swollen face. I am hoping that these symptoms will ease over the next couple

Beta Blocker Withdrawal
I was on bisoprolol for 2 months and after many side effects came off them, my cardio wanted me off them for the holter monitor so just came off-when gastro intestinal issues started while on them I'd had enough. Gastro probs disappeared overnight, sleep great-good deep sleep. Some sob/surges/ raised
