Depressed and taking bisoprolol which hasn't stopped the Afib

Can Bisoprolol make you depressed? I have been taking this for about 4 weeks now. It really worked for the first 2 weeks. Now the atrial fibrillation is back with a vengeance and the pills don't do anything. I got Zopiclone last week which means I can sleep through it for a few hours. It's fine in the day and then triggers about 4pm. I am feeling desperate as haven't even seen a cardiologist yet. Have had to book a private appointment out of desperation. Can anyone suggest what I can do to get out of this cycle - was even crying at work - HELP !

Dear BuntySensible.

Hello to you, so sorry that you are suffering so and as with a lot of people you are still trying to find answers to your questions.

Bisoprolol {and any other drug } can have depressive side effects, but as I am not medically trained this is something that you need to take up with your Dr.

You say that you have not seen a Cardiologist so who diagnosed your Atrial Fibulation? They are surly the people to contact or the ones that have linked these AF incidents to your past illness.

I am sorry to say that no-one on here will be able to give you medical advice for something that is so unknown, { not the AF but its link } and also I do not want your questions stopped due to talking about something that {rightly so} is against the forum rules.

Having said all the above you still cannot be crying at work with the anxiety that this is causing and you need to contact your Dr for guidance.

I am pleased that your AF is mild enough for you to be able to continue work but mentally maybe another story.

Take care and please let us know.

Please see you personal messages
