I have been on Edoxaban since July due to AF and high heart beat with AF
I have had a monitor in September amd recording averaged 70 then another early January with the average 130 beats peak at 180
My cardio doctor took me off the Edoxaban yesterday as he said I’m not high risk as my echo was ok to good now I asked why he said as I’m 53 there in no real risk of a clot compared to if I was 65 plus
It seemed strange to me as I’m on 10mg Bisoprolol still on his recommendation
Any thoughts ?

The two drugs have different purposes. The bisoprolol is trying to keep you heart rate down when you are in AF. The Edoxaban to reduce you likelyhood of a stroke.
According to the CHADSVASC system age is only one function (the A) so why not google Chads2Vasc2 and do you own calculation.? Remember a score cannot be removed so if you have ever been treated for high blood pressure that score stays even if tablets control it.
Yes it is weird that doctors think that one birthday makes such a difference.
