Atorvastatin - when to take?
Is there a definitive answer? Night only? Or any time just so long as you're consistent? I've seen information (including on my prescription) that says Atorvastatin should be taken at night like some other statins - apparently as this will be effective targeting increased production of cholesterol by

A possibly interesting publication revealing 10-fold increase in inflammatory molecule in microvascular angina patients.
This post is rather long. My “Google Scholar Alerts” have notified me of a possibly interesting abstract relating to the physiology of microvascular angina (MVA): https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/abs/10.1161/atvb.39.suppl_1.348 The abstract shows that the tested MVA patients had elevated levels of a

Advice please
Hi all, I would be most grateful for your advice. Currently on 11mg of Prednisolone using the DSNS plan. I’ve started to feel that my shoulders are slightly heavy (not pain), a slight nagging in left temple (not pain and not continuous) and a new symptom of weakness in my middle fingers. Shall I

Here is the question, has anyone experienced a quick or sudden change in their blood counts since taking Atorvastatin? Hi All, I am reasonably new to this forum but was diagnosed with CLL in 2009. On W&W until 2017 when I had one cycle of FCR, after a bad reaction in intensive care with neutropenic sepsis

Diabetes?
I am now 6 months into repeated symptoms. First one is sore penis and red glands - dr thinks it is balanitis. Kept mostly under control with Daktacort cream. Second symptom is 5 occasions of dark pee when dehydrated (all have happened after hot day, playing golf etc). I need to drink 2/3 litres of water

statins recommended
Current Dr insisting i go on Statins, but very reluctant because previously i had bad experience with mood swings, muscle problems etc on various Statins. Just had Blood pressure test for a week with an Average of 122over78. Not much wrong with that, through eating and exercising sensibly. Need evidence

Has anyone ever got rid of oral thrush?
I’ve had oral thrush for 8 weeks now. My GP prescribed a course of Nystatin which didn’t make any difference. I then bought a couple of tubes of Daktarin, still no better. My dentist recommended using Corsodyl mouthwash twice daily (which I’m still using every day). I eat a probiotic yoghurt each day

CholBiome reduces Cholesterol
I had a reading of over 6 and I’m allergic to statins. My doctor put me on Ezetimebe which brought it down to 6. Then I found out about Cholbiome which can only be described as a food supplement as it hasn’t gone through medical trials yet. After a few months I was down to 4.5 without changing my diet

Cholesterol and Statins
I think more and more that worrying about cholesterol is the wrong thing to do. I believe we should be looking more at Beige Carbs and sugar, reducing obesity and the body will look after the rest. I came across this article that supports that theory https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/5/9/e007118.full

Hi, pretty bad news about my cholesterol after my annual blood test on Tuesday which I have attached. On the plus side my HbA1c is ok and my GP is happy with it. My cholesterol though is pretty terrible. I don’t want to take statins, I tried them once years ago and within a couple of weeks I could barely

Thyroid levels / cholesterol link
Does anyone know of any recent respected research on the link between thyroid levels and high levels of cholesterol? I had an annual blood test on Tuesday and on Wednesday I had a call from my surgery about my cholesterol levels. The statin police didn’t half get off their mark! I am convinced it is

2 years ago I started the couch to 5k program. I was truly a couch potato having done no exercise for 40 years. I was overweight, I had asthma, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and terrible snoring, sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome. I smoked cigars (inhaling them!) and drank (moderately). Well

Hi I am a member of AF association, but my search for magnesium stearate bought me to here! I am 66, and have Permanent Atrial Fib with a slightly leaky mitral valve. My Cholesterol hovers around 5, despite good diet (mostly!), exercise (I walk, cycle and work in a charity donation centre, part time
