CHANGE OF BP MEDICATION - INTERACTION WITH SIMVASTATIN 40MG

As posted previously I was switched from attenolol; to Amlodipine 5mg. However apparently Amlodipine does not interact well with statins 40mg. So the GP has now put me on Lercanidipine 10mg. I post this as info in case anyone has concerns with Amlodipine and Statins being taken together and are experiencing side effects. I must say I did not get seem to get any adverse reaction and kept up my training during the change of medication regimes. My age is 74.

Hi - I’m not on statins but have just started taking Lercanipidine. 2/3 days in I’ve started getting awful acid reflux and indigestion which is something I never suffer from. I have only just started medication for high blood pressure, was on Amlopodine for a week but had terrible burning itching legs at night so had to come off them.

5mg amlodipine.

Hi Harry. I am on Amlopidine 5mg and Avaststatin 40mg with so far no side effects. However I have only been on them since beginning of October last year following TIA.In what ways do they interact when taken together. I must read the patient info again.
