Morning struggles
I'm a step parent to a set of twins (boys 8yo) and mornings have been the biggest struggle ever. No matter how early I put them to bed or how early I try to get them up, they will not get up and get ready for school anymore. They have been slowly coming off their melatonin gummies since bed time isn't

Steroids and your serotonin
I'm talking about serotonin not melatonin. Just something nice figured I would ask and see if you run into the same problem I did. I was prescribed steroids to hold me over until I start my new medicine. I haven't been on steroids for a long time and so I was able to go through a situation I wasn't

Taking high-dose melatonin
I've been taking around 157 mg of melatonin daily. Just for the health benefits. My question is. Should I take it all at once, or throughout the day? Presently I'm taking 42 mg when I wake up and 42 before bed. I take another 15 mg, 5 times during the day.

Insomnia
I think insomnia was a recurring trait that I seemed to have when I had my depressive episodes but now it seems more of an every day kind of thing. It’s really difficult in the night to stop the overthinking so I usually try to distract myself by watching videos online so that I’ll eventually just pass

Melatonin And Some Interesting Coincidences
In this chart above, you can see that by age 50, melatonin levels have declined to the level of a newborn which is quite low when compared to the peak seen in childhood. In the following link, there is a chart that you have to scroll down to page 8 to see and it shows how the incidence of PD increases

Study: Evening use of light-emitting eReaders negatively affects sleep, circadian timing, and next-morning alertness
https://www.pnas.org/content/112/4/1232 A few highlights: 55% less melatonin produced, less REM sleep, and having a hard time getting started in the morning. Best of all? The effects on circadian clock caused a 90 minute delay in feeling ready for bed the next day. I'm learning that a good nights sleep

Supplements, nootropics, vitamins, herbs: how do they interact? which are not compatible, which work synergistically and timing?
Sept. 7, 2021: I’m adding this preface. Thank you for your responses! I did not anticipate this! Please do not have expectations of my efforts culminating in anything that is not very basic, already known by most people on this forum, or more than what is easily accessible on the internet. I use

DHEA/Cortisol Ratio is Low
I recently had serum, saliva and urine tests to confirm an elevated cortisol diurnal. My ACTH has been elevated for the past 6 months and it has thrown me off w/thyroid meds (Synthroid). I was on 75, then on 50, now on 62.5 consistently for 8+ weeks. I really don't know what's happening with the ACTH

Resetting the Circadian Clock
Yes, I am kind of spitballing here. Could resetting the circadian rhythm help with PD? Treatment of isolated REM sleep behavior disorder using melatonin as a chronobiotic 2021 - Clock-timed melatonin treatment
I know I am not the only person here because if REMSBD, and I think this might be of interest to others also: The fast and dirty: For REMSBD take 2 mg of melatonin AT THE SAME TIME EVERY NIGHT 30 minutes before bedtime. Go to bed AT THE SAME TIME EVERY NIGHT. If you can't hit the time one night, skip

Extreme insomnia after taking B12 shots
Has anyone experienced insomnia after taking B12 injections? I never had sleep issues my entire life. My doctor gave me 5 B12 shots for 5 weeks. My sleep disappeared completely after 3rd dosage and when I told doctor about the side effects, he thought I am crazy. I was on sleep medications for 15 days

Melatonin does and Gay page
Hello Been on this site awhile. 2 short questions: My Dr suggested Melatonin to help with sleep. I have been taking 5 mg at bed time. It doesn't help me go down - but I think it keeps me down through the night - with the exceptions of waking to urinate - but I use a pee bottle so I can just do it
