Has anyone else been though the ordeal of the tests for the brain stimulation only to be told you Carnt have it YET?...
I am 57 years old and I was diagnosed with pd 3 years ago but my doctor reckons I have had it for at least 2 years before that Back in April 2017 my consultant said I seemed to be a perfect candidate for DBS would I consider it. I didn’t have to Think twice. I take Sinimet,Ropinirole and Rasagiline

Side effects of Imbruvica
I have been on Imbruvica for 9 months and am having hair loss and problems with nails. I notice some posts about Biotin and will look into that. A week ago I started treating my nails with Nailtek 4 and cuticle oil. I am noticing they are getting stronger and growing longer. You can order on Amazon

GP prescribed vitamin b compound tablets for b12 deficiency
Absolutely flabbergasted! As I mentioned in my initial post my GP wanted to try and treat my b12 def by oral supplement. I managed to persuade him to instead give me loading shots. I have just been to the chemist to collect some other meds and the prescription was there that I hadn't collected. I thought

Biotin supplement interference with common lab tests
FYI I knew about TSH (thyroid) but wasn't aware of false low proBNP (marker used to diagnose heart failure). Biotin interferes with the lab tests because of the method of testing. It does not affect the disease unless a doc erroneously mistreats based on the false lab results...so just be sure to tell

Hi all, I have been reading the posts on here since joining last year. The advice & support offered by everyone is wonderful. Had a 12 mm brain aneurysm stented & coiled last year. It was successful & I count myself lucky indeed. Especially when I read the daily struggles many of you encounter. Back

Getting a broad view
One thing to keep in mind: Parkinson's is just a name given to a constellation of symptoms and how they affect different individuals. All humans have multiple strengths and weaknesses in all the systems which have to work together in order for the body to function. Each individual comes with a different

I am not on disability as of yet but I was headed that way fast. You see I am an electrician and having to do the physically demanding work was taking me down fast. Had it not been for several higher ups being pushed to retire I would be out of work. I now do a lot of computer work but there are still

Viral Meningitis twice how is this possible?
In 2003 I was struck down with Viral Meningitis and in hospital for 10 days. They told me it was the Herpes Simplex virus that had caused the Meningitis but I had no cold sores or anything at that time. It took around a year to feel better with the main problem being tiredness and this wobbling feeling

High biotin doses may interfere with some SERUM blood tests, e.g. thyroid, anaemia. Those on Ibrutinib please note!
Those taking biotin PLEASE take note!
Biotin (vitamin B7) is a common component of immunoassays (a technique for measuring blood serum levels) and a small study has shown an alarming impact on the accuracy of some commonly performed blood tests. [u]Biotin supplements are commonly taken to reduce

Vitamin B
I am posting this information because as a patient with ataxia, I know how hopeless it feels at times and so even a glimmer of hope is better than none, BUT it is critical that people understand: SOME PEOPLE TRIED VITAMIN B WITHOUT A DOCTOR AND GOT VERY SICK. DO NOT TRY ANYTHING BASED ON COMMENTS ON

Does anyone get those types of headaches where it feels like squeezing? Sometimes it's in my temples sometimes it's in the back of the head sometimes it's in the top... I've had this for about over a year now and had a ct scan but like a true health anxiety sufferer I still got a brain tumour. I really
