shingles vax
I’ve tapered down to 5mg of prednisone over the last 8 months and so far my PMR is at acceptably low levels. I’ve been offered the shingles vaccine and wondering whether to have it. What is your advice?

Does anyone have an update on taking vitB3 niacin? After asking what I could personally do to help with my glaucoma, apart from the obvious healthy eating and regular excercise my consultant wrote down supplements, albeit no strength was mentioned. So since nov 2022 (the last time I saw that particular

internal shingles
hi, I’ve been diagnosed with internal shingles and it’s the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I’m on my last day of Aciclovir, I’m taking paracetamol and codeine during the day and 3 amitriptyline at night, this has been going on for over a week. Is this normal? Any advice gladly accepted

Why would my TSH remain out of range if my T4 and T3 is dropping after meds increase? Please can you advise?
Hello , I thought that if my thyroid had changed recently that TSH would go up as my T4 and T3 have dropped down (DIO2+ with Hashi's) but this doesnt seem to be the case. I dont understand ?Feeling lousier if thats possible. All bloods taken at same AM time with same abstaining protocol re Biotin. These

AAV-GAD Gene Therapy
Did anyone hear of AAV-GAD gene therapy? I have a chance to get into a phase 1/2 trial, but information is somewhat limited. The original developing company went bankrupt, and a new company bought the rights to the therapy. The trails are being held at reputable sites like Yale, Columbia , and Cornell

Understanding listening time at certain Db?
Hi guys, So, I'm trying to understand how things work with noise levels and HOW LONG I can listen for. I do gigs for 1 hour at a time approximately 8 times per week. These are nearly all solo gigs in care homes. For many years I did this with amplified acoustic instruments and what I thought to

Shingles Vaccine Update
Well I never!! I woke to a text message from our GP's surgery to say that I am eligible for a shingles vaccination with a link to book in with a nurse. My GP's obviously looked up the guidelines & though better of her decision! I'm just hoping that after the fight to get it I don't have any adverse

Dog bite not on my Xmas list
So… today, while walking my Old English Sheepdog, three dogs escaped from their leashes and one of them bit my leg. They also tried to bite my dog but because most of her is fur they didn’t reach flesh. I, however, went home and did a cursory clean with hydrogen peroxide and went to urgent care. They

Prolonged Fasting to reduce prostate cancer and vitamin B12's effect on raising PSA.
My PSA had held steady at 4 for many years prior but when Covid struck I stopped exercising and gained 40 lbs. It was at this point that my PSA jumped to 5.1 then 7 and I got a 3t MRI and subsequent 16 core targeted biopsy. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer (Group 3, Unfavorable Intermediate Risk
