Well done Otto for persevering …I think a lot of GPs just give an answer off the top of their head because they don’t think things through. …..Covid practices are over…they must start to revert to proper investigations!
Brilliant - well done! I had my first dose on 1st Dec after letting the GP know that my Rheumy was planning to start me on Tofacitinib on 14th at my review appointment and I knew the advice was to have Shingrix at least 2 weeks before starting on it. In the end, after I told him that the potential side-effects of Tofacitinib were troubling me (as I'm nearly 68 and a very-ex smoker) the Rheumy decided that Rituximab would be better for me. I won't be starting on those infusions until the New Year because he wanted me to have a raft of blood tests and a chest x-ray first, but at least I've had my first Shingrix dose and had no ill-effects from it at all. Hope you don't either. All the best!
