Many thanks for taking time to read my post.Test results from medichecks.

Bloods drawn 8.30am

Last dose 24 hours earlier

No B complex, biotin and B12 for 4 weeks.

Ferritin 54ug/l (30-150)

Folate serum >45 mol/l (8.83-60.8)

Vit B12 active 86pmol/l (37.5-188)

Vit D 135nmol/l (50-250)

TSH 3.56miu/l (0.27-4.2)

T3 4.4pmol/l (3.1-6.8)

T4 18.9pmol/l (12-22)

Thyroglobulin 21.9kiu/l (0-115)

Thyroid peroxidase 50.8 kiu/l (0-34)

My concern is TSH is steadily rising since nov 2022 I have changed GP due to previous GP not supporting me with my thyroid.

I am feeling tired on the afternoon and having increased power naps. I have been getting cramps in my calves more recently. I am noticing a little more brain fog.

My B12 has dropped since last test and a recent methylation testing identified a mutation suggesting I need B12 supplementation. Start sublingual B12

I am happy with my antibodies that have continually decreased.

Please advice on NICE guidelines about trial increase of medication.. i have a GP appointment later today.

Thanks

It is only necessary to stop any supplements you are taking that contain biotin for 4-7 days prior to a thyroid blood test. As you have left 4 weeks its now hard to assess what benefit you are gaining from your supplements.

Free T4 (fT4) 18.9 pmol/L (12 - 22) 69.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.4 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 35.1%

Your TSH is above 2 so you do need an increase. Your FT4 should be above 50% also.

Many with autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's benefit from a gluten free diet. A smaller percentage of those also need to remove dairy from their diet to feel well. These are intolerances and will not show up on any blood test.

Ferritin should be around 90 - 100 for best use of thyroid hormone. Suggest increasing iron rich foods in diet and eating them often. Chicken livers, pate, red meat etc

Many thanks..there was a wee story about the 4 week of taking no supplements 😁 very unintentional! Thank you for your comments Jaydee very much apppreciated. I now go armed with the info from the link you provided 😁

Feritin levels are proving to be stubborn but are increasing slowly...interestingly enough my methylation test identified a number of mutated genes across the 5 metabolic cycles that require me to supplement vit c and in addition B12, B complex.

Onwards and upwards ❤️
