Betaine hydrochloride

Hi everyone, Could anyone please explain why I get severe stomach pains after taking HCL, even at a very low dose. I tried it on the recommendation in the hypothyroid hub (re-low stomach acid) I also have to avoid acidic foods and drinks for the same reason. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

[/i] [i] [/i] [i]Betaine hydrochloride is a simple and readily available encapsulated form of acidification. Studies in humans are limited but show that betaine hydrochloride appears to be generally well tolerated.

Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced and readily available betaine hydrochloride ? I have checked the Solgar one and it seems to be out of stock in most places and of varying prices. Thanks.

Hi, my gp has just agreed to doing a gastrin blood test at the first time of asking, as I am uncertain about using Betaine HCL without (hopefully!)

I started taking pepsin and betaine (stomach enzyme and acid combination capsule). This seemed to really help. A couple of months ago I listened to a podcast from The Glucose Goddess (on Diary of a CEO).

I used to take Betaine and then switched to NAD and the Niacin is more effective than the other two. My current regime is complicated and very fluid as I adjust to everything.

Recently, I came across an article on TMG , also known as Betaine Anhydrous. Body builders and athletes seem to use it for faster recovery from workouts. In that article, they talked about it being a great methyl donor. I decided to try it because MYHFR is a methylation issue. Oh my goodness!

I have stopped the Betaine as it seems that there may be a conflict and the NAC with NAD seems to be more effective for the same symptoms.

I have been taking Betaine HCL and have tried apple cider vinegar and lime juice. But I feel I’m possibly still not absorbing. I did the bicarbonate of soda test this morning, and had a small burp after 10 minutes. I’m going to do it again for the next couple of days.

It came to me that I did trials of Methyl Folate, D3, K2 and Betaine and the trials indicated they had no effect. The reason was that I administered the recommended amount.

Weighing in at 42 kg, clearly still malabsorbing, worse since dropping Betaine and Enzymes due to ulcer symptoms. Weird gait/balance, worse ever CFS on last increase of 1/8 grain, so I have dropped it back down again.

hello forum friends I’ve just bought some cytoplan betaine and pepsin. My thinking is to raise my stomach acid to help my body better absorb nutrients. I’m just wondering have any of you tried this, and has it helped? Thanks 💜

The test suggested betaine hcl supplements and some targeted probiotics. I’m going to be talking to my GP about it once Sibo results back though as he is the one that suggested doing those tests and said he would look at them with me but I do also have a practitioner I did the testing with.

The report is suggesting I would benefit from betaine hcl/digestive enzymes though and some targeted probiotics. Thankfully no pathogens, parasites, yeasts or markers for “leaky gut” though. So small mercies.

good morning everyone, ok so after trying this apple cider vinegar and the betaine last week my mind and body have changed so much for the better so I was not absorbing things . it's like night and day of how I feel. so now I have to start to learn about this kefir that is helping you all.

the betaine pepsin will show up tomorrow I ordered so I'm eager to try it. I do snack a lot so I'm not sure if I take anything during snacks. thank you Rosina

hello all, I see some of you take betaine hcl I have read, so my daughter has the product called zypan it contains betaine hcl and other enzymes, is this product different than what most take. or is betaine hcl a product that is sold all by itself?

Wizard does suggest taking Betaine which I do take, but wondered if there is anything else I need to do to clear it up. Does anyone else get this.

I read on here to try betaine HC1 650mg ( I take 2) and I have to say immediately I got relief, instantly like a miracle. I also take 2 ACV tablets 1000mg in the morning. My question is, is it ok to take both. oh lastly Digestive enzymes, any info grateful thanks Thank you x
