LFT normal but a week of abstinence
My LFT is normal. Ferritin has been elevated for the past 5 years and GP is sending me to Hematology. I QUIT beer today and Test is 2 months away. I always for the past 5 years of test dont drink for 1 week before tests and is that why my LFT is normal? 5 years I drank 8-9 cans of beer a day 3-4 times

Monitor my Health results , or lack of them!
Wonder if anyone else has had this ( or got prof.expertise to advise), did the Full Health Screen blood test from the NHS lab so I’d be well equipped to have phone appointment with GP next week re. Thyroid and vit/ min levels, and they only did 2 tests ( HbA1c and cholesterol) others said ‘not enough

Looking for PA Consultant
Hi, I was diagnosed about thee months ago and I'm on B12 injections and feeling much better. However, diagnosis remains very uncleal. Very low B12, below limits of the test, but no antigens to intrinsic factor and negative on caeleac disease. Cant fault the GP but feels very limited what they will

So my sister has just found that she has haemochromatosis...
I've nagged her to follow up on her high ferritin results for the last year or so, though GP seemed disinterested with it above 700 so I sent her to give blood which bought it down to 400. Since then we have successfully got her GP to acknowledge her Hypothyroidism and prescribe T4 and I got her to

Hi there,I am posting on behalf of my mum (I have hashis and in my own personal nightmare!). She has diagnosed hypothyroidism, not autoimmune. She is 72, has been on levo for around 20 years, current dose 75mg, she doesn't specify a brand so I suspect it's whatever the pharmacist gives her. Serum ferritin
