Float Tank / Sensory Deprivation with CKD
Hi Everyone, I'm a 43 year old male with a GFR of 32 at last visit. My kidney disease is currently very well managed, my nephrologist is very happy with my blood work and blood pressure. I was interested in trying a Float Tank. I know this is not recommended for those of us with chronic kidney disease

Good morning, I enjoy reading and learning from everyone on this board! My dad (76) has been on this journey with stage 4 metastasized prostate cancer for a little over a year now. He has exhausted the majority of treatments. He has castration-resistant prostate cancer with progression despite abiraterone

My Consultant suggested I take an antibiotic every other day to hopefully control amount of chest infections. I do not have a chest infection at the moment so really don't want to take antibiotics. I would have to take them every other day for ever . Does anyone take an antibiotic every other day .I

Starting Radium 223 (Xofigo) next week
Having just finished a trial of carboplatin + docetaxel, I'll be starting Xofigo next week as a bridge to a pembro+ trial early next year. My latest PSA is 940, with no visible soft tissue involvement. I have a single-strand CDK12 defect. Hoping that the suggestion of this paper is true for me: Efficacy

Blood re-test results - all opinions welcome. Increasing TSH.
I have been having various blood tests after not getting a regular cycle back after stopping the pill. I had bloods done in March and recently repeated. Main worry is my TSH has gone up. But still 'in range'. Should I be pushing for a full thyroid panel? Or maybe I should just do a postal test. In March

Paroxetine aka Paxil - Last Chance Saloon......
After an almost 3 HOUR (!) appointment with my psychiatrist yesterday after my GP wrote to him saying that he had grave concerns about my suicidal ideation, it has now been agreed that I will start Paroxetine at a low dose. I now also have a further tweak to my diagnosis - adding in Briquet's Syndrome

Tried HRT For 3 Days - Now Stopped After Huge Panic
This is a nightmare! I have tried HRT again as I am in surgically induced menopause and my hot flushes are frequent and intense with feelings of panic and a racing heart. These are IN ADDITION to my panic atracks and long standing GAD. Well - I just couldn't do it! The HRT patch I was on just made

Why is is such hard work to get results!
Waiting on fna biopsy and barium swallow results is painful lol I've been told the consultant has them and that I will now have a follow up appointment which isnt for another few weeks so 5 weeks in total. The secretary said that she wouldn't of thought there would be anything to worry about but that

Im having a HUGE panic attack from valium??
I took a valium as prescribed and I am freaking out. My brain is 100% sure i'm going to die. I do feel sedated and like I'm going to fall asleep but every time I start to my brain wakes me up because I think if I sleep I will die. I am having such catastrophic thinking. I want to go to the hospital but

Hi all, sorry if this is a bit off topic but I know there are some experts in vitamins and minerals out there. I should know better, actually I do
I should know better and actually I do but that does not stop me when it comes to needles. Yesterday I had to get a flu shot. No big deal to normal people but as we all know when it comes to any sort of needle I am the biggest baby in the world. Actually they are probably braver than me. It amazes

Decision time. My husband has not had success with any of the standard of care treatments, docetaxel, twice, zytiga, xrtandi, radium 223 and cabazaiaxel .He has a rising PSA currently of 178 and is faced with a decision of continuing to qualify for the AC225 clinical trial( his blood levels are there

Who needs Valium when you have lavender.
We visited a lavender farm in Surrey on the outskirts of London. The weather was brilliant and the fields had just come into bloom. The lavender was spectacular, we had lunch there and took a tractor trailer tour of the farm. The air was heavy with the fragrance of the lavender and I began to feel remarkably

DRUG REACTIONS
I find it amazing that so many of us can have such varied reactions to the same drug. For instance .. I have taken a Valium two nights in my life and both nights I didn't have just nightmares, I had horrormares. It's strange how the brain works ... it refuses to allow me to remember them, thank God.
