I went in said I thought cellulitis, different GP thought more likely clot so scans and anti clot stuff and a basic

Dentist and antibiotics?
Hi - I have a question regarding dentist/hygienist and the need to take antibiotics afterwards (newly diagnosed with ET/JAK2 and still bringing down platelets with Hydroxy). My haematology team recommend antibiotics after any major work, and for the dentist/hygienist not to use too much pressure. The

Travel vaccinations
I’m travelling to Bali in April and been recommended to have Typhoid, Tetanus and Hepatitis A boosters. Has anyone experienced any issues following these vaccinations please? Currently on 0.5mg Pred and no intention of reducing further until after the holiday!

Any advice or thoughts appreciated! Trying to keep cirrhosis in check despite hospitalization for very serious pneumonia
Hello all. I was diagnosed with alcoholic cirrhosis a year and a half ago. Had stopped drinking a few months before, but the damage was done. I was in terrible shape but with a great doctor and 100% commitment to my nutrition and lifestyle was compensated and on minimum maintenance follow up. I was

cellulitis
I’ve been diagnosed today with cellulitis - never had it before and knew nothing about it so it’s all been a bit of a shock. I’ve been prescribed Flucloxacillin but unfortunately, by the time I was discharged from Urgent Care, the hospital pharmacy was closed so I can’t start them until the morning

Pneumonia Vaccine
I was talking to a very friendly Doctors wife yesterday who works on his admin and we talked about the amount of people suffering and in some cases hospitalised with pneumonia. She said that the vaccine I was given about 10yrs ago is now not considered to be sufficient protection. It is thought that

Very fast onset of Pneumonia! It’s a long story; are you comfortable…
My husband is on W&W for CLL, though he may start treatment soon. Well, he had a heavy cold (as did I) and though it lingered abit we weren’t too concerned. Was still coughing up green mucus abit but he wasn’t concerned (I was and told him but … well, he felt better he said) Day before Christmas Eve

Oxygen levels after pneumonia
I was discharged from hospital one week ago having suffered a bout of pneumonia and a RSV I was treated in isolation. I know it will take weeks to recover, but I’m concerned about my oxygen level which hovers around 87-89. Any advice?

Mum grew her angel wings
hi all, I just wanted to write a post on here as I sadly lost my mum last week after a 7 year battle with PSP. Although it was pneumonia that took her in the end. I just wanted to write on here to say, give your loved ones suffering an extra big hug this Christmas and remember to be their loved one

Baseline figure from lung function test
After 10 days post hospital admission with pneumonia I went to have a lung function test at my local hospital. The result of the test was 438 a new baseline. My usual top peak flow is 500 (very unused as it doesn't match my height, sex and ethnicity) I should be blowing 420. One explanation was that
