My son has had back pain and the GP has suggested chondritis. Isn't this related to RA? I am really hoping you folks will say no. :(

Hi Lulul

People with RA do sometimes get costochondritis but it is NOT related to RA. It is inflammation of the junctions where the upper ribs join with the cartilage that holds them to the sternum. With treatment and appropriate exercise it can be quickly controlled. My daughter had this for some time but it did go eventually!

Chondritis is not auto-immune related.:)
