New member osteoporosis questions
I recently posted re Alendronic Acid and have received some helpful replies. So encouraged by that I am here with further questions. I was diagnosed around 3 years ago with "mild" osteoporosis. This followed a stress fracture to my ankle (had just taken up running). I declined medication and sorry to

Calcium supplements
About a week ago Mrs Nails put up a wonderfully clear and informative post ,about Alendronic Acid. (Mrs Nails, your work is so much appreciated.) I was very interested to note she says supplements of calcium and Vit D are to be taken AS WELL AS bisphosphonate, if you have osteoporosis, which I do ( lowest

Hello ladies. I've been struggling for over a week with horrendous pain, that my usual endo pain meds are not even touching. I've been circumsized 3 days ago and my penis is still healing. Is the inflamed thing on the back of the head of the penis normal?
Hello, I've just been circumsized for 3 days ago. And I just wanna ask if my penis is fine and healing properly. The only thing I'm worried about is about the swollen (and kinda inflated?) thing in the back of the head of my penis, I'm afraid it might be an infection. I'm consuming my medical treatments

ALPHA LIPOIC ACID FOR RLS?
Has anyone ever taken alpha lipoic acid and noticed a great improvement in RLS symptoms? I'd like volunteers to help me to test it out. I have been noticing improvement, since my problem is inflammation.

Alendronic acid - to take or not to take?
Hello, I’m new on here. I have severe asthma and have been taking quite high doses of steroids since January. My gp has suddenly prescribed alendronic acid to prevent osteoporosis. I have been alarmed by the potential side effects and am wondering whether to take it, or whether I should first try to

Can I have info on Alendronic Acid?
GP rang to say that recalculations had been done on my Dexa Scan and now I have osteoporosis in both my hips! I asked for time to make my decision, so all info will be helpful to me. MY own inclination is to say no thank you, because of all the side effects, and because I am already on so many drugs

Is omeprazole necessary?
Now that my GP has their own pharmacist I had a conversation with one the other day. She was concerned I wasn’t taking omeprazole and I explained my reasoning behind it. When first diagnosed six years ago I started it along with alendronic acid totally oblivious as to why. After a few months and realising

Advice about Alendronic Acid
I am 54 and had an early menopause, so after a rib fragility fracture was sent for a Dexa scan. My result is osteoporosis in the spine (t score - 2.6), osteopenia femoral neck (t score - 1.8) and left hip (t score - 1.0). My risk of major fracture within 10 years is 9.6%. I have been prescribed Alendronic

New member, recently started on Alendronic Acid 70mg
Hi everyone, following a recent chest ct scan (for asthma) I’ve been told I have a slight fracture in one of my vertebrae and showing signs of osteoporosis. My Gp put me on AA 70mg straight away and Advil-D3. I was sent for a dexa scan last week and await the results. In the meantime, my right hip,

L1 = -3.0, L2 = -2.5 Have been prescribed Alendronic Acid but I am really concerned about taking it. Need advice/shared experience.
In May 2020 I had a dexa scan which showed L1 and L2 vertebrae as -2.0 and -2.2 respectively. After starting on 15mg prednisolone in August 2020 and reduced to 7.5mg in October I asked my rheumatologist if I could have another dexa scan. My mother had osteoporosis as a result of being on steroids,

First Aid in the Workplace
not sure if anyone can help with this question. You can have a DNR put on your hospital records, but can you do the same in your workplace?? Just having a debate with my hubby, talking about "what if.." scenarios. Are first aiders obligated to perform CPR on you?
