Trigger finger on both hands same finger the wedding ring finger. Very painful to open in the morning and eases then gets stuck when not using. I have had surgery and steroid injections on my thumbs in the past under orthopaedics but now just under rheumatology for arthritis do I contact them or GP for further help

Hi Delgirl. I can sympathise with you as I've had surgery for two triggers on my right hand - ring and middle fingers (pre RA). I could be wrong but I would try the GP first - if it's wrong, they will tell you to contact Rheumatology no doubt. Good luck. x

Hello, I have multiple trigger fingers too, they do respond to steriod injections but the injections don't last for long and the fingers retrigger after about 6 months. please could you tell me what surgery you had for your trigger fingers and did it work ??

Hi lindyloo2018. The injections didn't work for me (it was done twice without any success) so I had the tendon release surgery and they've been fine ever since.

I had surgery on both hands for trigger fingers. The surgery is called a tendon release and it works. Pretty much lasts forever, no more problems with it. It’s an easy same day surgery with quick recovery time
